Depending on who\u2019s telling the story, it\u2019s a harrowing tale about Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries trying to stave off the DSA Marxists; or the \u201cfar left\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/07\/28\/trump-socialism-stages-of-political-surrender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">floundering<\/a> because it doesn\u2019t have its own Fox News; or the party needing a storybook journey home to the moderation of Joe Biden and Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>These are all tall tales, of course. Schumer and Jeffries <em>are<\/em> engaged in a power struggle, but it\u2019s an intramural contest among fellow radicals. Leftists \u201cfar\u201d and near have numerous Fox News-scale allies such as CNN, ABC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and so on and so forth. Biden is anything but moderate, and Obama has arguably done more than anyone to create the radicalism that is now pervasive on the left.<\/p>\n<p>This hasn\u2019t stopped a host of commentators from presenting Obama as a beacon of the political center. In one recent example, former President Obama\u2019s friendly interaction with WNBA superstar Caitlyn Clark went viral in the wake of anti-Clark backlash that included a USA Today <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/columnist\/nancy-armour\/2026\/07\/22\/caitlin-clarks-reaction-to-noncalls-puts-wnba-players-at-risk\/91002124007\/?taid=6a60c8374bd5dd000191598c&#038;utm_campaign=trueanthem&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">op-ed<\/a> accusing her of sparking racial lynching-level violence \u2026 by complaining about referees\u2019 foul calls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re fantastic!\u201d Obama told Clark. \u201cDon\u2019t let all this nonsense get you down.\u201d His conversation with Clark had all the warmth and rizz that made Obama an effective politician, and his avuncular advice reads like a Solomonic proverb compared to this kind of raving lunacy: \u201cIt seems there is a white nationalist faction to Clark\u2019s fandom that is deeply, deeply problematic, made even more so because the WNBA is made up predominantly of Black women, many of them queer.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A perfect example of why Obama is hated by the far Left &#038; also why he won two elections comfortably. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/c8iolzBXd7\">https:\/\/t.co\/c8iolzBXd7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Philip Klein (@philipaklein) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/philipaklein\/status\/2080995471539962065?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 25, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Lunacy aside, however, Obama\u2019s sanity in the smile-wave-and-kiss-the-babies campaign trail moment doesn\u2019t erase a tidal wave of evidence that he more than anyone else is the patriarch and pioneer of today\u2019s Democrat Party and Zohran Mamdani\u2019s rising Islamocommunism. Did he succeed in establishing the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >single-payer universal health care system \u2014 complete<\/a> with MAID services when the government runs short of cash \u2014 that Mamdani and Co. dream about? Not quite. But he did <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC3424675\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">force<\/a> insurance companies to cover individuals with preexisting conditions, destroy health care as Americans had known it, and essentially make it a crime not to be insured.<\/p>\n<p>Health insurance premiums <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/3832120\/obamacare-massive-failure-gop-bail-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have nearly<\/a> doubled since the passage of the \u201cAffordable Care Act,\u201d and taxpayers are stuck subsidizing a socialistic monstrosity that Obama promised wouldn\u2019t add \u201ca dime\u201d to the national debt. Speaking of other so-called \u201cmoderates,\u201d Nancy Pelosi was there every step of the way, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9uC4bXmcUvw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explaining<\/a> that \u201cwe have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.\u201d And boy, have Americans found out.<\/p>\n<p>Another hallmark of the DSA Marxists that purportedly sets them apart from the \u201cmoderates\u201d in the Democrat Party is their associations with other radicals. Mamdani proudly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/30\/mamdanis-rise-signals-the-islamic-revolution-remaking-the-united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hobnobbed<\/a> with an imam who called for \u201cjihad\u201d and was alleged to be a co-conspirator in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Adam Hamawy, a New Jersey congressional candidate likely headed to Washington, D.C., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/he-defended-a-terrorist-will-democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> \u201conce testified on behalf of the mastermind\u201d behind the 1993 attack. DSA member Darializa Avila Chevalier <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/24\/propaganda-media-gear-up-to-whitewash-new-yorks-socialist-takeover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helped<\/a> start a Columbia University group that had the stated goal of destroying Western civilization.<\/p>\n<p>But one might argue that these leftist politicians are simply following in Obama\u2019s footsteps. He notoriously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2008\/10\/06\/95442902\/obamas-links-to-ex-radical-examined\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">had a relationship<\/a> with Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground, which the FBI designated a domestic terrorist group. Ayers has said that \u201che does not regret setting bombs, he does not consider what he did to be terrorism, and he believes that his conduct wasn\u2019t \u2018extreme enough in fighting racism,\u2019\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/person\/bill-ayers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to Influence Watch. The sketchy connections hardly stop with Ayers. Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/04\/did-obama-refuse-to-condemn-antisemitism-and-black-nationalism-resurfaced-biography-says-yes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">took<\/a> a chummy photo with and was endorsed by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/obamas-fraudulent-legacy-is-being-exposed-and-its-on-the-wrong-side-of-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Louis Farrakhan<\/a> and was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/obama-resigns-20-year-church-membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20-year member<\/a> of the church of Jeremiah Wright, notorious for his \u201cGod D-mn America\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ix-AMYos0Js\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sermon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/obama-resigns-20-year-church-membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blaming<\/a> the U.S. for the 9\/11 attacks \u2014 just as DSA candidate Melot Kiros <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/07\/01\/dsa-colorado-win-shows-third-world-communism-is-new-norm-in-the-democrat-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has done<\/a>. Obama only <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/Politics\/story?id=4753861&#038;page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">separated<\/a> from Wright as his presidential campaign gathered steam.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Wright and Farrakhan highlights the reality that Obama harbored a poorly disguised contempt for his country even as he inflamed the racial tensions on which he would base that contempt \u2014 just as the Mamdani Marxists do. He <a href=\"https:\/\/obamawhitehouse.archives.gov\/the-press-office\/remarks-president-obama-strasbourg-town-hall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">made a point<\/a> of bashing America in front of other world leaders for \u201cshow[ing] arrogance\u201d and being \u201cdismissive, even derisive.\u201d He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/articles\/2013\/10\/01\/obama_transforming_america_120170.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaigned<\/a> on \u201cfundamentally transforming the United States of America,\u201d much in the same vein as Mamdani\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/mayors-office\/news\/2026\/07\/remarks-as-prepared--mayor-mamdani-delivers-address-marking-amer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contention<\/a> that \u201cAmerica is exceptional because here, nothing is fixed into place.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Michelle Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/articles\/2013\/10\/01\/obama_transforming_america_120170.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">echoed<\/a> her husband\u2019s position, asserting, \u201cWe\u2019re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we\u2019re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.\u201d After his election, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/michelle-obama-retools-im-proud-remark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> that \u201cfor the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country,\u201d a comment she would later walk back. In similar statements Barack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/03\/18\/us\/politics\/18text-obama.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">would characterize<\/a> the Constitution as \u201cstained by this nation\u2019s original sin of slavery\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/new-clinton-ad-addresses-obamas-bitter-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">berate<\/a> Americans who purportedly \u201ccling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren\u2019t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NRA:  Barack Obama - \"bitter gun owners\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VZWaxjiQyFk?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Obama was also a forerunner of the DSA socialists when it came to weaponizing race for political gain. In 2009 he quickly weighed in on the mistaken arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/ben-smith\/2009\/07\/obama-cambridge-police-acted-stupidly-020099\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">smearing<\/a> the Cambridge Police for \u201cact[ing] stupidly\u201d and implying racial profiling had occurred, despite \u201cnot seeing all the facts.\u201d Three years later he inserted himself in the case of Trayvon Martin, a black teen shot by George Zimmerman, purportedly in self-defense. Obama said, \u201cIf I had a son, he would look like Trayvon,\u201d a comment that had no bearing on the charges against Zimmerman, who was found not guilty of second-degree murder.<\/p>\n<p>Most notably, when police fatally shot Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old, in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014, Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/manhattan.institute\/article\/obamas-ferguson-sellout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> the ensuing riots \u201cunderstandable. He also opined that \u201cthe law too often feels like it\u2019s being applied in a discriminatory fashion\u201d \u2014 despite evidence justifying law enforcement\u2019s use of force in the shooting. The incident <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebsco.com\/research-starters\/political-science\/2014-ferguson-unrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helped<\/a> launch the Black Lives Matter movement that would cause so much destruction six years later.<\/p>\n<p>Race weaponization and anti-Americanism aside, Obama blazed the trail of far-left, Marxist radicalism on a host of additional issues, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/01\/19\/10-ways-obama-violated-constitution-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government bailouts<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2015\/03\/16\/president-obamas-trans-national-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trans<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/06\/01\/5-reasons-president-obamas-new-transgender-school-policy-is-foolish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">agenda<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/03\/04\/how-the-obama-presidency-normalized-abortion-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abortion<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/taxes\/commentary\/sorry-mr-obama-heres-why-raising-taxes-the-rich-wont-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">taxing the rich<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hioZ5aq3CA8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">same-sex \u201cmarriage,\u201d<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/01\/19\/10-ways-obama-violated-constitution-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawfare<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/01\/19\/10-ways-obama-violated-constitution-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mass<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/obamawhitehouse.archives.gov\/blog\/2014\/11\/20\/we-were-strangers-once-too-president-announces-new-steps-immigratio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">immigration<\/a>. Further, Obama\u2019s radicalism is <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/28271811\/cnn-poll-on-presidents.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wildly popular<\/a> on the left, both now and when he left office. Nearly 90 percent of self-described liberals viewed him favorably, according to a June 2026 CNN poll. Among members of the Democrat Party, that number rose to 96 percent, a point <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-38667115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">higher<\/a> than when he left office. Those with memories that last longer than five seconds will recall that Democrats didn\u2019t need Mamdani radicals to help them nix constitutional rights during Covid, declare that men are women, and open America\u2019s borders, often in an effort to replicate Obama\u2019s political success. They were radical enough for the \u201cfar left\u201d then, and they\u2019re radical enough now, thanks in large part to their spiritual patriarch, Obama.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cnew\u201d Marxists like Mamdani, Avila Chevalier, Kiros, and Claire Valdez are simply following in his footsteps \u2014 and those of the \u201cmoderate\u201d Democrats. Are they more blatant and less calibrated to a national campaign? Certainly. Does Obama know his craft well enough to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mazemoore\/status\/2073125818910286179?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cosplay as moderate<\/a> and morph as expediency requires? Absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>But make no mistake: Barack Obama is no moderate and neither is his party.
