The renovation includes constructing four new concourses, an underground aerotrain, moving sidewalks, and a new parking garage with 32,000 spaces-the largest in the world. This project will add over 5 million square feet of new or renovated space, upgrading the existing basic concourses while preserving the historic terminal. The upgrades are planned to be funded by airline contributions and airport-generated revenue, not federal funds, though approval from Congress might potentially be required.
