Hawley questioned Fauci\u2019s motives, accusing him of profiteering, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/aoc-says-she-would-absolutely-vote-to-oust-speaker-mccarthy\/\" title=\"AOC vows to ... out Speaker McCarthy.\">seeking media attention<\/a>, and turning his staff into submission machines for cash awards. Fauci avoided answering, stating he was advised by counsel to invoke his rights. The pardon covers his actions prior to its issuance, but wouldn\u2019t protect him if he committed a crime in the hearing, such as perjury. He also accused Fauci of profiting from his public health role by seeking cash awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou had time to sit for InStyle magazine,\u201d Hawley said. \u201cHere\u2019s what you were doing with your time. You could sit for InStyle magazine, but you can\u2019t answer questions for the American people. You could sit for InStyle magazine, but you\u2019re here taking the Fifth. You could sit for InStyle magazine and get a million bucks in cash awards, but now the cat\u2019s got your tongue. It was really about a power trip,\u201d Hawley said. \u201cI mean, through all of this, you want to be the most famous scientist in the world. You were so focused on getting every award and every drop of cash that you could, all because you wanted to be on TV. You wanted to be the sun god of science.
