Democrats labeled the legislation the \u201cbig, ugly bill,\u201d and have held hundreds of events across the country over the last year to talk about its effects. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHands off Medicaid, hands off Medicare, hands off the Affordable Care Act, and hands off the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/policy\/healthcare\/\" data-type=\"category\" data-id=\"90\">healthcare<\/a> of the American people,\u201d Jeffries later added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Democrats aimed to extend the ACA subsidies last year and early this year, but hit a wall in the Senate.
