Fauci\u2019s diary indicates that he coordinated with Tapper and was involved in influencing media coverage, blurring the lines between journalism and advocacy. Their friendship included dinners and private exchanges,suggesting potential bias and lack of objectivity in Tapper\u2019s reporting. Fauci also criticized other CDC officials and noted restrictions on media appearances, highlighting possible conflicts of interest. Ultimately, the article criticizes the influence of this relationship, implying it compromised objective reporting and had tangible consequences on public perception and policy during the pandemic.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Dr. Anthony Fauci, architect of the coronavirus lockdowns, was behind attempts to discredit Trump administration officials during the pandemic, feeding questions to CNN propagandist Jake Tapper, according to Fauci\u2019s newly released diary.<\/p>\n<p>In a July 26, 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/emilyjashinsky\/status\/2081444396000538989?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">entry<\/a>, Fauci wrote of then-Assistant Secretary for Health Brett Giroir that Giroir was \u201con Tapper (<em>State of the Union<\/em>) talking bullsh-t about testing with Jake pressing him. I gave Jake some questions to ask him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tapper and Fauci apparently became close friends, having dinners together at each others\u2019 homes, something Fauci referred to as \u201cfriendship building.\u201d While Fauci was able yuck it up with the D.C. elite, he pushed policies that would not allow family to be with their dying loved ones during their last moments alive.<\/p>\n<p>The two would text each other, and on July 26, 2020, Fauci said \u201cJake Tapper woke me up at 11:23 AM (I went to bed early) furius[sic] at POTUS for tweeting about the fact that Jake severely questioned Brett Giroir on SOTU CNN show day. Jake was really pissed at the craziness of it all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The relationship between the two show that Tapper could never have been an objective reporter on the coronavirus or the government response. Rather, Fauci\u2019s accounting of the relationship suggest that Tapper was otherwise motivated, choosing to protect his burgeoning friendship with Fauci and doing Fauci\u2019s backchannel bidding while developing an even deeper hatred for Trump than he had prior to 2020.<\/p>\n<p>As Unherd\u2019s Emily Jashinsky <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/emilyjashinsky\/status\/2081931542180360669?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observed<\/a>, \u201cit\u2019s a basic journalism rule that if you cover your friends, you recuse yourself or disclose the friendship to the audience so they can assess your coverage with that context.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tapper takes every opportunity to shirk basic journalism rules, such as advancing known lies like the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/29\/russiagate-wouldnt-have-been-possible-without-a-complicit-propaganda-press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Russia Collusion Hoax<\/a>, having on-air <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/20\/the-best-of-the-worst-lefty-journo-meltdowns-trump-inauguration-2-0-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meltdowns<\/a> when politics do not go his way, hocking his own book about former President Joe Biden\u2019s mental decline after having <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/02\/26\/jake-tapper-tries-to-make-millions-exposing-bidens-cognitive-decline-after-he-spent-years-hiding-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">covered it up<\/a> for his entire presidency, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/jake-tapper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the fall of 2020, Fauci had another dinner with Tapper and his wife, where Fauci noted, \u201cJake clearly believes Trump is totally nuts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In between the dinners, Tapper would snicker to Fauci about his dislike of Trump administration officials.<\/p>\n<p>After Deborah Birx, former White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, appeared on Tapper\u2019s show, \u201cJake wrote me a text afterwards and said: \u2018Birx has lost her way I fear. She has chosen to focus on defending the president and attacking the press. Odd,&#8217;\u201d Fauci wrote.<\/p>\n<p>After a while, Fauci noted, \u201cStay heads up to a marked decrease in WH Comms allowing me to go on national media compared to 2 weeks ago.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The relationship between Fauci and Tapper is not just a gross display of corruption \u2014 it had real consequences.<\/p>\n<p>As someone who describes himself as an objective reporter and news anchor for a major media outlet, Tapper was in reality a mouthpiece providing cover to his preferred groups, while holding a different standard for others.<\/p>\n<p>Like so many other <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >left-wing corporate media hacks<\/a>, Tapper allowed Black Lives Matter riots to go virtually unquestioned during lockdowns, admonishing large gatherings of people for being \u201csuperspreaders\u201d unless they were the rioters themselves.<\/p>\n<p>When a video of young people at a beach \u2014 a setting and demographic that was unlikely to spread the virus \u2014 was going around the internet, Tapper had another on-air <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/media\/488187-cnns-tapper-to-people-defying-social-distancing-who-the-hell-are-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meltdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople out there who are millennials or younger and thinking, \u2018Well, if you\u2019re 80 years old, you know, it only affects people who are in their 70s and 80s,\u2019 which isn\u2019t true, although, obviously, the people in their 60s, 70s and 80s are most vulnerable to it,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat are you saying, that my 80-year-old dad, therefore, is fair game?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe selfishness of people who are not taking this seriously is \u2014 it\u2019s just maddening,\u201d he added. \u201cI get that people don\u2019t understand it, but what bothers me is people who think, \u2018I\u2019m young, I\u2019m not going to die from it.\u2019 First of all, not necessarily true. Second of all, you could get really, really sick and you could be injured for the rest of your life with scarred lungs, and third of all, who the hell are you to be walking around just giving this to old people and you just flippantly dismiss it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Somehow, the virus would not spread during a riot, but would on a beach.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Breccan F.
