The memo says the NRCC has a $13.7 million dollar advantage over the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, putting the NRCC in the \u201cstrongest cash position\u201d in 20 years. It also mentions the Supreme Court\u2019s recent decision striking down the limits on spending individual candidates could do in conjunction with party committees, meaning \u201cairtime, staff, and turnout operations are locked in across every district.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">House Republican fundraisers also argue that the battlefield favors them. \u201cDemocrats are defending 23 seats President Trump won in 2024,\u201d compared to eight Republicans running in seats that former Vice President Kamala Harris carried. The national map was greatly influenced by a flurry of redistricting pursuits across the country this cycle. Republicans emerged with a narrow advantage: Trump would have carried 14 of the remapped seats by at least 10 points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo flip the House, Democrats have to win Republican-held seats where President Trump averaged 53.2% in 2024. Democrats\u2019 generic ballot polling advantage has shrunk from over 7 points to about 5 points in the last month. Democrats lost nine seats in 2022. Trump\u2019s approval rating, in which he\u2019s 23 points underwater, according to the <em>Economist<\/em>, the lowest mark of his second term, may also pose a political obstacle for Republicans as midterm elections are typically referenda on the president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe next 100 days won\u2019t be easy; they\u2019ll be a knife fight. Democrats will spend millions trying to claw back the majority.
