Lauren Boebert of Colorado has now caused ill feelings on both sides of the current GOP rift over U.S. support for Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The congresswoman, however, explained her behavior as a product of strong-arming and confusion, not choice.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the website TMZ outside the Capitol on Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rep-boebert-planning-motion-expel-ilhan-omar-congress-alleged-incestuous-marriage-ones-mine-dibs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boebert<\/a> said that pressure from GOP staffers, coupled with a premature closing of the vote, caused her to miss a crucial vote on the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027, which included Section 219, a provision that would merge certain aspects of U.S. and Israeli defense programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, I got a whole bunch of men trying to muscle me into voting for the NDAA,\u201d the congresswoman said in a clip posted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platform<\/a> X.<\/p>\n<p>When asked, she replied that she did not know the men\u2019s names. She simply referred to them as \u201cstaffers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She expressed reservations about the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSection 219 is still in there. It\u2019s a big tech swap between us and Israel. We don\u2019t do that with anyone. I understand in the past we\u2019ve given them money for the Iron Dome and then they get to keep the tech and we don\u2019t get any of it back, so I understand that, but it\u2019s a big issue on the left and the right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, she cited pressure on the opposite side coming from \u201cconstituents\u201d \u2014 though whether those \u201cconstituents\u201d are Republicans or Democrats or something else entirely isn\u2019t clear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of my constituents have reached out,\u201d she added. \u201cThey don\u2019t want this provision in the bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then came a pair of surprising claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell,\u201d she continued, \u201cthe White House doesn\u2019t want it in the bill. Secretary [of War Pete] Hegseth doesn\u2019t want it in the bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This alleged opposition from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pete-hegseth-institutes-mandatory-testosterone-testing-certain-troops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hegseth<\/a> and the White House, she said, explained why she was waiting. Then, the vote was called before she thought it would be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m in the back,\u201d she said, \u201cwaiting for a call from the secretary. I\u2019m told that call is coming, I\u2019m talking to someone underneath him, and I\u2019m told the vote\u2019s gonna stay open.
