This request follows the release of internal Justice Department messages indicating possible violations related to handling classified data and access to sensitive facilities during Smith’s investigation into President Trump. CASA highlighted several former prosecutors involved in the case, raising concerns about security lapses, such as unauthorized access to classified materials and unsecured sensitive areas. Although no criminal wrongdoing has been confirmed, the group suggests these incidents warrant a review under federal security guidelines. The move coincides with broader scrutiny of Smith’s conduct, including legislative inquiries into security breaches and the revocation of Smith’s own clearance by the Trump governance.CASA also filed disciplinary complaints against some former prosecutors, amid ongoing questions about the integrity of the investigation and security protocols. The organization’s push comes ahead of potential Senate actions on nominations related to the intelligence community, with Pulte’s role as interim director presenting an opportunity for oversight.

EXCLUSIVE — A watchdog group is urging acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte to review and potentially revoke the security clearances of former members of special counsel Jack Smith’s team over alleged lapses in handling classified information.

The Center to Advance Security in America, or CASA, made the request in a letter sent Tuesday to Pulte that cited internal Justice Department messages released this month by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the Senate judiciary committee chairman.
