That was David.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-5\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-5\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-26\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is Ed, who beat his brother to the party leadership in 2010 and then led <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/1945897\/exit-poll-suggests-conservatives-big-winners-in-british-election\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/1945897\/exit-poll-suggests-conservatives-big-winners-in-british-election\/\">Labour into oblivion<\/a>, hamstrung by his inability to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ed_Miliband_bacon_sandwich_photograph\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ed_Miliband_bacon_sandwich_photograph\">eat a bacon sandwich on camera<\/a> and his naive politics. Most recently, he has been the key figure in the U.K.\u2019s drive to achieve net-zero carbon by 2050.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He might yet make a fine Foreign Secretary. But don\u2019t expect him to be at the center of a harmonious relationship with the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, <em>Secrets<\/em>\u2019 take (hot or otherwise) is that Burnham will keep a tight hold over trans-Atlantic affairs. He has, after all, kept on Jonathan Powell as national security adviser, aware that he is a man deeply trusted by the White House.\u00a0Miliband can have the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-calling-scholars-of-international-law\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Calling scholars of international law<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zohran Mamdani has repeatedly <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/4655648\/zohran-mamdani-arrest-benjamin-netanyahu-foreign-bureaucrats-deranged\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/4655648\/zohran-mamdani-arrest-benjamin-netanyahu-foreign-bureaucrats-deranged\/\">promised to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> if he sets foot in New York. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Israeli prime minister for crimes against humanity related to Israel\u2019s war in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,\u201d the New York mayor told <em>The New York Times<\/em>. \u201cHe\u2019s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the U.S. is not a signatory to the Statute of Rome, which set up the ICC. Mamdani himself has qualified his plans by saying any actions would be in line with local laws, suggesting he is not even sure he could get the New York Police Department to act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So <em>Secrets <\/em>appeals to our readers.
