Chuck Grassley<\/a> (R-IA) show FBI headquarters <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/press\/rep\/releases\/grassley-releases-bombshell-records-showing-fbi-headquarters-interfered-with-alleged-chinese-election-interference-probe-to-shield-christopher-wray-from-political-blowback\">ordered the report recalled<\/a> shortly after it was disseminated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grassley\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/press\/rep\/releases\/grassley-releases-bombshell-records-showing-fbi-headquarters-interfered-with-alleged-chinese-election-interference-probe-to-shield-christopher-wray-from-political-blowback\">Senate Judiciary Committee release<\/a> said Floris was among the headquarters officials involved in the recall request. But when Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA) <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/event\/116th-congress\/house-event\/LC67036\/text\">asked whether the FBI had seen anything<\/a> \u201cto the extent of actively trying to hack into or interfere with the electoral system,\u201d Floris replied: \u201cTo date, sir, we have not seen anything specific regarding hacking into the electoral systems of the 2020 elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cline\u2019s question concerned detected hacking of election systems nearly a year before the recalled China report, while the new records concern alleged influence activity, voter-data collection, and the FBI\u2019s handling of intelligence. Additionally, her testimony came nearly a year before the recalled IIR.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the sequence in the context of her previously unseen remarks raises questions about the bureau\u2019s posture toward Chinese election threats and how much it disclosed to the Trump administration and the public.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-life-after-fbi-and-hunter-biden-controversy\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life after FBI and Hunter Biden controversy<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Floris joined the FBI as an intelligence analyst in 2005 and served on the director\u2019s daily briefing staff, helping prepare executive-level briefing documents, according to the bureau.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She moved into the Counterintelligence Division in 2018 as deputy assistant director of its Intelligence Branch. In 2022, Wray named Floris intelligence analyst in charge of the Washington Field Office\u2019s Intelligence Division, the first person to hold that role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FBI Director <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kash-patel\/\">Kash Patel<\/a> forced Floris out of the FBI in May 2025. She now works as Microsoft\u2019s director of insider risk, according to her LinkedIn profile, which has since been hidden from the public. The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> contacted Microsoft for comment but did not immediately receive a response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/195285\/fbi-agents-behind-controversial-hunter-biden-briefing-in-2020-ordered-to-talk\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/195285\/fbi-agents-behind-controversial-hunter-biden-briefing-in-2020-ordered-to-talk\/\">Floris had previously drawn scrutiny from congressional Republicans<\/a> over the FBI\u2019s handling of their <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hunter-biden\/\">Hunter Biden<\/a> investigation. In August 2020, she and FBI official Bradley Benavides briefed Grassley and Sen.
