Participants who complete the challenge can select rewards from an online prize shop, including prizes from partners like Crayola, Dairy Queen, and Wendy&#8217;s, as well as personalized certificates, letters from Vance, themed bookmarks, and a chance to win a White House visit. The program aims to improve childhood literacy, which declined significantly in summer literacy levels in 2024.This is the second year of the initiative, now with expanded prize options and increased participation, including more support for children with learning differences. Vance also launched a storytime podcast to promote reading and literacy. Over 20,000 students participated in the pilot, with current submissions tripling compared to last year.
