He wanted to wait until after his scheduled Sunday morning appearance on NBC News\u2019s <em>Meet the Press<\/em> to seek medical attention, according to <em>Axios<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 71-year-old lawmaker died from<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4645679\/lindsey-graham-cause-death-aortic-dissection-heart-disease\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"4645679\"> aortic dissection<\/a> due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to the medical examiner in Washington. The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fbi\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"516\">FBI<\/a> is conducting its own toxicology report. Law enforcement searched his Capitol Hill home on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hours before his death, Graham returned from a visit to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ukraine\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"82\">Ukraine<\/a>. According to a source who spoke with the senator in his final moments, Graham joked, \u201cI can\u2019t die now.
