Jackson\u2019s radical positions extend beyond administration cases; she dissented alone in rulings such as the Colorado therapist ban and a Louisiana districting map, highlighting her willingness to take autonomous stances. She is characterized as highly candid and sometimes conflict-prone,frequently enough authoring her own dissents,which has attracted criticism from fellow liberals. Despite her claims of impartiality, Jackson\u2019s voting record appears highly partisan, contrasting with her accusations against originalist justices of bias.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A new Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/us-news\/law\/samuel-alito-practical-originalism-06ce3159\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">analysis<\/a> found that Ketanji Brown Jackson is the most partisan justice on the Supreme Court, voting against the Trump administration 98 percent of the times in 100 major cases. In those same cases, Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas aligned with the administration 89 and 88 percent of the time, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal suggested in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/us-news\/law\/samuel-alito-practical-originalism-06ce3159\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> that Alito\u2019s record was the real story behind this data: \u201cIn a term dominated by Trump-related disputes, [Alito] voted to uphold every significant Trump initiative that came before the court, and he wrote frequent, full-throated endorsements of some of Trump\u2019s most brazen efforts to expand presidential power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alito is certainly a consistent conservative justice, but Jackson sides against the Trump administration in almost every major case, according to the WSJ\u2019s analysis. The real story this data tells is about Jackson\u2019s radicalism, which sometimes even causes her to split with her left-wing counterparts on the court.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson has shown her radical positions time and again, and that doesn\u2019t just apply to cases in which the administration presented arguments. In <em>Chiles v. Salazar<\/em> earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/03\/31\/8-1-scotus-nukes-egregious-colorado-ban-on-therapists-helping-gender-confused-clients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this year<\/a>, the Supreme Court ruled that Colorado cannot ban therapists from offering patients alternatives to pursuing radical \u201ctransgender\u201d ideology. In this 8-1 decision, Jackson was the sole dissenting justice.<\/p>\n<p>The majority, which liberal Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor joined for this ruling, said that Colorado\u2019s ban was violating therapists\u2019 right to free speech. Jackson, however, said these were standard, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/01\/trust-the-gender-science-says-scotus-justice-who-doesnt-know-what-a-woman-is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cgarden-variety\u201d<\/a> medical regulations, supposedly aimed at protecting patients.<\/p>\n<p>This was not Jackson\u2019s only time writing a lone dissent. After a 6-3 decision where the court found a Louisiana districting map <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/supreme-courts-junior-justice-goes-solo-tear-trump-fights-put-her-odds-bench\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unconstitutional<\/a>, the court voted 8-1 to hand the decision down immediately. As the sole dissenter, Jackson said her colleagues \u201c[dove] into the fray\u201d of elections after they voted to fast-track the decision\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/JM5Oe#selection-773.0-773.133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> last year about the divide between the 3 liberal justices, with Jackson being the most radical by far. As the junior justice on the Supreme Court, Jackson has been known to author her own dissents. \u201cSotomayor and Kagan worry that their newer colleague\u2019s candor and propensity to add her own dissents have diluted the group\u2019s impact,\u201d The Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>The left has historically gone after originalist justices on the court for upholding conservative principles. Threatening justices about what would happen if they overturned <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/30\/swatting-incident-at-justice-barretts-home-is-another-hit-from-schumers-whirlwind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>: \u201cI want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won\u2019t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After this March 2020 speech and the leaking of the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em> decision in 2022, a man <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/30\/swatting-incident-at-justice-barretts-home-is-another-hit-from-schumers-whirlwind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">showed up<\/a> at Justice Brett Kavanaugh\u2019s home with a Glock pistol, hoping to murder him. Also following the leak, left-wing <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/30\/swatting-incident-at-justice-barretts-home-is-another-hit-from-schumers-whirlwind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protestors<\/a> showed up at the homes of other Supreme Court justices, including Justice Amy Coney Barrett. <\/p>\n<p>According to Federalist Editor-in-Chief and author of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefederalist.com\/Alito: The Justice Who Reshaped the Supreme Court and The Constitution\">Alito: The Justice Who Reshaped the Supreme Court and The Constitution<\/a><\/em>  Mollie Hemingway, the court\u2019s liberal justices made the threat of violence <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/30\/swatting-incident-at-justice-barretts-home-is-another-hit-from-schumers-whirlwind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">worse<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/18\/explosive-report-as-dobbs-majority-faced-death-threats-liberal-justices-slow-walked-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stalling<\/a> the release of the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the evidence of the liberal justices partaking in partisan politics, Justice Jackson has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/05\/jackson-accuses-scotus-of-partiality-she-and-her-fellow-liberal-justices-are-guilty-of\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accused<\/a> the originalists of \u201cpartiality.\u201d For however impartial she claims to be, her incredibly partial voting record can speak for itself.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Skye Graham is an intern at The Federalist.
