the moral compass of the United States,\u201d they wrote. \u201cIt would tell survivors whether this country is willing to protect them, or whether it will continue to protect the of Epstein\u2019s earliest publicly known survivors,\u201d and includes two leads she gave the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fbi\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"516\">FBI<\/a> during its investigation into the convicted pedophile, but neither was pursued. She includes a list of questions directed at Blanche about the leads she presented to be read during his confirmation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFrom my perspective, this wasn\u2019t simply a technical mistake,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe handling of my file reflects a process that failed survivors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her statement, Stein recounts her experience with Epstein, how the failed redactions in the files release included her personal information, and how that affected her life.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf the Department of Justice cannot faithfully carry out a law specifically enacted to protect victims in one of the most significant sex trafficking cases in American history, why should any victim trust it to protect them?\u201d Stein wrote. \u201cThe Attorney General is not the President\u2019s personal attorney. The Attorney General\u2019s client is the Constitution, the laws enacted by Congress, and the American people. The Epstein Files Transparency Act was one of those laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blanche, a former federal prosecutor, emerged as one of Trump\u2019s most prominent legal defenders during the president\u2019s criminal cases following his first term in office. He took on the role in an acting capacity after former Attorney General <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pam-bondi\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"11687\">Pam Bondi<\/a> was fired from the post in the face of significant backlash over the DOJ\u2019s role in releasing the Epstein files.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In April, Blanche told Fox News host Jesse Watters that the Epstein files \u201cshould not be a part of anything going forward\u201d in the DOJ.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-4\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-4\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-25\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-4\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It remains to be seen whether or not Blanche will receive enough support from the Senate judiciary committee to be sent to the full Senate floor. Committee members Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), John Cornyn (R-TX), and John Kennedy (R-LA) have all voiced opposition to Blanche taking on the attorney general role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/epstein-files\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/epstein-files\/\">DOJ DEFENDS WITHHOLDING MORE EPSTEIN FILES, SEEKS 60-DAY EXTENSION<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Centrist Republicans, including Sens.
