The caucuses captured 19.6% and 16.6% of the first-rank vote share, respectively, for the National Political Committee, the DSA\u2019s most important leadership body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both caucuses believe that socialists can use the Democratic Party for electoral gain, even if they disagree with its political positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStarting a third party with its own ballot line from scratch has not been a viable strategy in the United States for a century, and it is not a viable strategy in the current moment,\u201d the Socialist Majority Caucus\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.socialistmajority.com\/pointsofunity\/#1\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.socialistmajority.com\/pointsofunity\/#1\">platform reads<\/a>.
