At that time, the Intelligent Speed Assistance system was made mandatory for all new cars, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/road-safety-charter.ec.europa.eu\/resources-knowledge\/media-and-press\/intelligent-speed-assistance-isa-set-become-mandatory-across\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Road Safety Charter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The system made an annoying beep sound when drivers exceeded the speed limit.
