Ukraine also continued its attacks on refineries deep inside Russia, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/drone-offensive-hits-russian-oil-tankers-refineries-industrial-scale-moscow-bans-diesel-exports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Trump noted that on Wednesday as he called Ukraine \u201cvery effective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s had the best equipment because he had our equipment,\u201d Trump said. \u201cBut somebody has to use that equipment. And you have a lot of brave people that are using that equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Patriot missile deal is <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >unlike past weapons agreements<\/a> in which the U.S. raided its own stockpile and sent arms to Ukraine, which has held off Russian forces for more than four years, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5959830-trump-zelensky-thaw-nato-summit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine will be able to co-produce the missiles, all of which are currently made by Lockheed Martin in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to give a license to you to make Patriots. That\u2019s pretty cool, right? This way you can\u2019t complain that we\u2019re not giving them enough,\u201d Trump told Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they can produce them very quickly once we explain it,\u201d Trump said, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/ce8klree690o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Patriot missiles would fill a hole in the Ukrainian defenses. The nation has limited ability to stop Russian ballistic missiles, as was shown Sunday when Russian attacks killed at least 20 people, as noted by The Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Trump on Wednesday backed Ukraine\u2019s strategy of taking the war to Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an escalation, but it\u2019s also an escalation that could help lead to an end,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Coffey, a senior fellow with the Hudson Institute, said the talks between Zelenskyy and Trump produced \u201cimpactful and concrete announcements\u201d that will \u201chave an effect on the battlefield.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olga Stefanishyna, Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, said that \u201cexpanding cooperation on Patriot missile capabilities reflects a d understanding that Ukraine must have the means to protect its people and critical infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added that the announcement \u201csignals confidence in Ukraine\u2019s domestic military production, which has expanded from drones to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">cruise missiles<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUkraine has proven it can develop and produce even the most sophisticated defense technologies. This partnership is about more than helping Ukraine defend itself \u2014 it is about strengthening the future security of the entire transatlantic community,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said his relationship with Zelenskyy has evolved from contentious to cooperative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve actually developed a good relationship.
