It\u2019s time to abolish ICE and replace it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xFFKQy8IEe\">pic.twitter.com\/xFFKQy8IEe<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Ro Khanna (@RoKhanna) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RoKhanna\/status\/2074564998303482199?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 7, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>If you listen to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/24\/the-disingenuous-schemer-ro-khanna-is-a-model-democrat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spectacularly dishonest<\/a> Democrat schemers like Rep. Ro Khanna, immigration- and border-focused federal agencies like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICE<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBP<\/a>, and the ICE component <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/hsi\/priorities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HSI<\/a> are storming around grabbing people off the street for no reason but racism and shipping them to the camps for the sake of pure bigotry. When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nyc-and-dc-mayors-beg-biden-for-help-with-busses-of-illegals-from-texas-and-arizona\/\" title=\"NYC and DC Mayors Beg Biden for Help With Busses of Illegals From Texas and Arizona\">federal immigration authorities arrest<\/a> someone, what\u2019s happening is a \u201cviolation of human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s lying, and he\u2019s lying as a cruel political strategy to create fear and uncertainty. <\/p>\n<p>In Los Angeles last week, a multi-agency task force led by HSI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2026\/07\/06\/homeland-security-task-force-operation-arrests-gang-members-sex-trafficking-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arrested 10 suspects<\/a> who were allegedly trafficking minors as young as 14 for sex. A grand jury indictment alleges at length that girls who tried to escape were beaten and threatened with death. The violent coercion of teenage girls into street prostitution (often from foster care) is a long-running crisis in the city and some of its neighboring communities, a reality so horrifying that the deeply partisan New York Times has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/26\/magazine\/sex-trafficking-girls-la-figueroa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">covered it in depth<\/a> despite the embarrassment to the Democrats who govern the place.<\/p>\n<p>The arrests last week crossed an interesting boundary: While many of those arrested were members of a black street gang, the <a href=\"https:\/\/unitedgangs.com\/hoover-criminals-gang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hoover Criminals<\/a>, federal agents also arrested the manager of the motel alleged to have been the center of the trafficking operation, Mukeshkumar Ahir.<\/p>\n<p>The mandate of HSI is to investigate transnational crime, and recent sex trafficking arrests have followed allegations that Indian immigrants are both running and joining trafficking operations and sometimes falling victim to them. If recent indictments got the facts right, American street gangs are forming business relationships with foreign criminal operations. A major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ne\/pr\/federal-operation-targets-nebraska-human-trafficking-ring-area-hotels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sex trafficking bust<\/a> of Indian-surnamed suspects in Nebraska also alleged that the same ring was dealing drugs and engaging in immigration visa fraud for cash.<\/p>\n<p>So when the ICE agency known as HSI pursues transnational crime, it\u2019s sometimes freeing American children from sex trafficking rings. Remember what Ro Khanna says about ICE: \u201cWe cannot ignore their continued abuse and violation of human rights.\u201d He says this as ICE frees children from violent pimps. No traditional conception of limited government anticipates tolerance for people who use violence to force minors to be trafficked for money.<\/p>\n<p>A reporter from The Federalist went to the South Los Angeles motel where 10 people were arrested for trafficking children, hours after the law enforcement raid, and found it open for business. A DOJ spokesman in Los Angeles told The Federalist that county lawyers were working on an \u201cabatement action,\u201d a civil enforcement effort to end the use of the motel for sex trafficking, but Los Angeles County officials have ignored The Federalist\u2019s repeated inquiries about that effort. Federal law enforcement is filling a vacuum left by state and local inattention and ineffectiveness, and local police are joining an effort to solve a problem caused by poor local government.<\/p>\n<p>If you doubt what ICE is up to, <em>look<\/em> who they\u2019re arresting. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2026\/07\/07\/worst-worst-ice-arrests-multiple-pedophiles-violent-assailants-and-other-public\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Go look for yourself<\/a>. Sample July 6 arrest: \u201cUriel Castaneda-Penaloza, a\u00a0criminal illegal alien from\u00a0Mexico, convicted for <strong>lewd\u00a0or lascivious\u00a0acts with a\u00a0minor\u00a0\u2014\u00a0under\u00a014 years old<\/strong> in\u00a0Bakersfield, California.\u201d What a terrible act of abuse to arrest him, right? That poor man.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-cdca\/pr\/international-crackdown-india-based-organized-crime-gangs-results-24-arrests-us-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">what ICE did<\/a> a day later: \u201cInternational Crackdown on India-Based Organized Crime Gangs Results in 24 Arrests in U.S., Canada, and Europe.\u201d Read the announcement for yourself. It describes violent Punjabi gangsters who (among <em>many<\/em> other alleged crimes) risked a street war by allegedly stealing hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from other Los Angeles gangs. Transnational crime is <em>crime<\/em>, and ICE is one of the agencies policing violence and theft by organizations that cross borders. From the same DOJ announcement, suggesting the size of the transnational problem:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The FBI; the Los Angeles Police Department; the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP); and United States Customs and Border Protection\u2019s Buffalo Field Office are investigating these matters. RCMP is conducting a parallel investigation into South Asian organized crime.<\/p>\n<p>Assistance was provided by Unidad Central Operativa de la Guardia Civil (Spain); Homeland Security Investigations Los Angeles; the Drug Enforcement Administration\u2019s Los Angeles Division; the Regional Narcotics Suppression Program, a specialized multi-agency task force that targets high-level drug trafficking and money laundering organizations operating in Southern California and managed by the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Department; the Brownsburg (Indiana) Police Department; the Pennsylvania State Police; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Philadelphia Field Division; the FBI\u2019s field offices in Buffalo, Sacramento, and San Francisco; and the FBI\u2019s Legal Attach\u00e9 offices in New Delhi, Mexico City, Madrid, and Ottawa.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s a sick joke to call any of this \u201ccontinued abuse and violation of human rights.\u201d What on earth would Ro Khanna propose as an alternative?<\/p>\n<p>Finally, note that elected officials in blue states and cities constantly <a href=\"https:\/\/mayor.lacity.gov\/news\/mayor-bass-issues-executive-directive-support-immigrant-communities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demonize ICE<\/a> and sow fear over its investigations, grandly <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/la-county-sheriff-robert-luna-says-department-will-not-assist-immigration-enforcement\/15903375\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announcing<\/a> policies to forbid local police to cooperate with federal agents. In the real world, the local police who work for those blue state politicians <em>routinely<\/em> partner with DHS law enforcement agencies to stop violence and stealing in their cities.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Federal agents in armored vests, backed by uniformed LAPD officers, swarmed Escamex Party Supplies in LA\u2019s Skid Row to arrest a shop worker at the center of an alleged SNAP benefits fraud ring. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cOeOly3OFv\">https:\/\/t.co\/cOeOly3OFv<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cq9yb2EY7V\">pic.twitter.com\/cq9yb2EY7V<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 California Post (@californiapost) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/californiapost\/status\/2074282337139867792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 7, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>SNAP fraud makes government bigger and more expensive, stealing from taxpayers and growing a dishonest welfare state. It should be stopped, and the HSI agents who joined this week\u2019s raid on Skid Row weren\u2019t violating anyone\u2019s human rights.<\/p>\n<p>The growth of federal law enforcement power isn\u2019t a reality to be celebrated. In our federalist system, states are supposed to manage their own internal regulation, and the federal government is supposed to exercise limited power over plainly interstate matters. But immigration crosses borders, and law enforcement involving immigration is well within the enumerated powers of the federal government. <\/p>\n<p>The danger of federal expansion beyond its constitutional limits arises from the madness of a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >senile figurehead president throwing open<\/a> the border, and from the dismal quality of blue state government. The increasingly obvious willingness of local police to partner with federal agencies speaks to the widely shared knowledge that Democrats are destroying communities. The path back to healthy and balanced federalism runs through the defeat of garbage politicians like Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom.
