id=\"https:\/\/www.mainedsa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Maine-DSA-Voter-Guide-Primary-2026-1.pdf\">primary voter guide<\/a> compiled by the organization shows it did \u201crecommend\u201d that voters cast their ballots in support of Platner. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The voter guide, which was compiled by a DSA volunteer member and published before the June primary, acknowledges that Platner \u201cisn\u2019t the perfect candidate\u201d but does not \u201crehash\u201d some of the controversies that had come up during his campaign, including his social media history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHis campaign is riding a wave of populist anger against MAGA and provides a crucial opportunity to take out the forever unpopular, but still powerful, Susan Collins,\u201d the guide continued. \u201cIf someone is committed to growth and shows a willingness to be better than they have been, then we have to take this chance while it\u2019s available.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" explains that the organization issues recommendations in races where the \u201ccandidate might not call themselves or be a socialist\u201d but in which they believe \u201ctheir platform can materially benefit the working class in Maine (especially in comparison to other candidates in their race).\u201d The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> contacted Maine DSA for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s unclear if the voter guide was published before the <em>New York Times<\/em> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/06\/04\/us\/politics\/platner-maine-senate-girlfriends-relationships.html\">published<\/a> an article detailing allegations against Platner in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/golden-rules-out-replacing-platner-on-ballot-amid-scandals\/\" title=\"Golden rules out replacing ... on ballot amid scandals\">multiple women called<\/a> his actions intimidating, disturbing, and sometimes aggressive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a series of interviews with <em>Politico<\/em> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2026\/07\/06\/graham-platner-sexual-assault-allegation-00987737\">published<\/a> Monday, Jenny Racicot, 41, claimed she and Platner had an on-and-off relationship for two years until Platner entered her home while drunk and forced himself onto her.
