Envelopes with bullets sent to government ministries? A horse\u2019s head in their beds? Multiple members resigned in recent months in order to force the government body to pause, preventing the sale of outlet Channel 13 to a group of entrepreneurs hostile to the incumbent government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The High Court ordered in June that the council resume operations despite the legally insufficient number of members. But Cabinet members voted unanimously over the weekend to reject any decisions made by the council until it meets the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >proper head count \u2014 claiming<\/a> that the lack of quorum prevented the legitimate exercise of power.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi has positioned himself as perhaps the chief opponent of the High Court, routinely invoking biblical language and bellicose rhetoric against the judicial body and characterizing them as tyrannical.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe clarion call heralding the government\u2019s and the people of Zion\u2019s freedom from the yoke of the High Court has already been sounded,\u201d Karhi <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/shlomo_karhi\/status\/2074381717607948677\">said<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All five living jurists who previously served on the High Court \u2014 Aharon Barak, Dorit Beinisch, Asher Grunis, Esther Hayut, and Uzi Vogelman \u2014 came together with a joint statement warning the Cabinet\u2019s noncompliance is the \u201clast nail in the coffin of democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSuch conduct completely undermines normal governance and law in the country.
