Barrett will appear before the House Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government on July 14, and both justices will also testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee. The last House hearing involving justices was in 2019, and the last Senate hearing was in 2011. The Supreme Court is requesting over $228 million in discretionary funding for fiscal year 2027, including funds for security enhancements and building maintenance, with a focus on security due to threats against the justices.
