The design features contributions from representatives of all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and U.S. territories, showcasing symbols like Alaska\u2019s Iditarod, indiana\u2019s indycar heritage, Guam\u2019s proa boat, Maryland\u2019s blue crab, and West Virginia\u2019s New River Gorge Bridge, among others. Portions of the cake were made for display rather than consumption. The tribute involved input from bipartisan members of Congress, cultural institutions like the Smithsonian, and student artwork from America\u2019s Field Trip programme. The event included remarks from dignitaries and a ceremonial cake cutting, with pieces presented to young scouts.
