President Donald Trump has endorsed the merger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/policy\/how-a-45-million-donation-brought-larry-ellison-deeper-into-trumps-circle-b3e26c03\">previously reported<\/a> that Trump is excited by the deal because his ally, Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison, is the father of Paramount Skydance CEO <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4530058\/paramount-ceo-skip-senate-hearing-wbd-merger\/\">David Ellison<\/a>.
