are set to attend a preliminary hearing next week in Utah for the trial of accused assassin Tyler Robinson.<\/p>\n<p>A source familiar with the matter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/charlie-kirk-parents-widow-attend-tyler-robinson-preliminary-hearing-next-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> Fox News on Monday that it\u2019s \u201cexpected to be a raw, difficult moment for the family,\u201d as online videos and images of Kirk\u2019s final moments are likely to be shown.<\/p>\n<p>The source added that family members will be warned and given a chance to leave the courtroom if they so choose.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing will reportedly take an entire week to complete, and will see prosecutors call witnesses to establish probable cause so the case can move forward.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet noted that this would be the first major hearing the Kirk family has attended since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-charlie-kirk-assassination-suspect-identified\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robinson\u2019s arrest<\/a> for aggravated murder.<\/p>\n<p>There is a possibility that the hearing could be delayed, however, as the Utah Supreme Court grapples with a defense appeal to ban cameras from the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/charlie-kirk-muder-prosecution-courtroom-cameras-f67f09a0f7052bc3488e97dbc1798141\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> back in May that District Judge Tony Graf said video footage of a defendant could be used to vilify them, but held that \u201cthe public\u2019s right of access to court proceedings\u201d outweighed those concerns.<\/p>\n<p>A final decision from the state\u2019s high court is expected sometime this week.<\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old Kirk, who was a father of two and founder of Turning Point USA, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/leftists-celebrated-charlie-kirk-assassination-fired-rapid-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">horrifically shot<\/a> in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University back in September.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Robinson\u2019s trial has been closely monitored by the media and has exposed deep <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jimmy-kimmel-blatantly-lies-audience-charlie-kirks-assassin-claiming-part-maga-gang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political divisions<\/a> throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson, 22, has not yet entered a plea.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Judge Graf also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-shuts-tyler-robinsons-attempt-dodge-death-penalty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shut down<\/a> an attempt by the defense to bar the prosecution from seeking the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Utah County prosecutor Christopher Ballard was found to have violated a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >pre-trial publicity gag order<\/a> by commenting on the case to TMZ.<\/p>\n<p>Ballard highlighted a report regarding ballistics evidence, saying that even if the fragments don\u2019t match up with Robinson\u2019s rifle, there is still enough proof to convict him.<\/p>\n<p>The defense, in turn, argued that Ballard\u2019s statements could sway potential jurors and asked for the death penalty to be taken off the table.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Graf held Ballard in <a I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence. I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it. I don\u2019t know if I will\/have succeeded, but I had hoped to make it home to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Robinson added, \u201cI wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary. I wish I could have stayed for you and lived our lives together. I lack the words to express how much I love you, and how very much you mean to me. Please try and find joy in this life.
