Luna initially filed the complaint in April after posting on X, alleging sexual misconduct by Gallego based on mentions from women, tho she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-one-knows-anything-experts-ask-cdc-to-release-data-on-revised-mask-mandates\/\" title=\"\u2018No One Knows Anything\u2019: Experts Ask CDC To Release Data On Revised Mask Mandates\">provided limited details<\/a>. She also criticized Gallego for his friendship with former Rep. Eric Swalwell, who faced misconduct allegations. <\/p>\n<p>Gallego denied the accusations and criticized Luna,calling them right-wing conspiracies,and demanded an apology. Luna responded by disputing his claims, referencing his past divorce and other alleged misdeeds. She also pointed out past investigations into gallego&#8217;s conduct, including a 2013 inquiry where officials found no evidence of a sexual slur.Gallego has set up a legal fund to respond to the ethics inquiry. James Lankford (R-OK), <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/chris-coons\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1885\">Chris Coons<\/a> (D-DE), James Risch (R-ID), Brian Schatz (D-HI), Deb Fischer (R-NE), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-1\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-1\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-15\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luna first filed the complaint April 17, following a cryptic <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepLuna\/status\/2044501733594869976?s=20\">post to X<\/a> where the congresswoman said the Senate \u201chas its own trash to take out,\u201d and urged Senate Majority Leader <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/john-thune\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"178\">John Thune<\/a> (R-SD) to \u201clook into the allegations against one of your senators.\u201d Luna later <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/luna-accuses-ruben-gallego-conduct-denies\/\">confirmed to CBS News<\/a> that the senator in question was Gallego.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She offered scant details about what the complaint was about, but said, \u201cthere is a woman that allegedly is coming forward with attorneys [and] wants to go on-record about an incident that occurred between the two of them at the same time, and the event was sexual in nature, allegedly.\u201d She later said she\u2019d caught wind of four women who had unnerving encounters with Gallego.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luna had been critical of Gallego because of his close friendship with former Rep. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/eric-swalwell\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2345\">Eric Swalwell<\/a> (D-CA), who resigned from Congress and suspended a gubernatorial campaign following sexual misconduct allegations. Gallego has denied having any knowledge of \u201cactual accusations of harassment of staff or predatory behavior toward staff\u201d by Swalwell and denied the accusations by Luna.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee explains in its letter to Gallego that members had requested information from him on the same day as Luna\u2019s complaint and again on May 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a social media post following the reported letter, Gallego said Luna\u2019s accusations were \u201cright-wing conspiracies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe dismissal by the Ethics Committee reaffirms what I have said about these accusations from the beginning: they were right-wing conspiracies peddled by far-right activists like Anna Paulina Luna, the White House, and their allies,\u201d Gallego said. \u201cI look forward to an apology from Rep.
