Despite previous attempts to ban funding for Planned Parenthood-such as a proposed 10-year ban that was reduced to one year and a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >failed amendment-significant funds continue<\/a> to flow, with the organization receiving over $700 million in taxpayer support in 2023-24 and over $832 million in government reimbursements in 2024-25.Additionally, the article highlights the organization&#8217;s expansion into the transgender medicine market, including hormone treatments and surgeries accessible at many clinics, with sharp increases in procedures aimed at gender-confused youth.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns are raised about the organization\u2019s compliance with federal regulations and transparency,especially regarding provision of gender-affirming care to minors without parental consent. It emphasizes that reputable medical and governmental bodies have rejected these gender-affirming procedures for minors, and advocates for legislative and regulatory measures to halt funding and prevent further harm.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Planned Parenthood\u2019s expansive exploitation of minors and women through sex-rejecting treatments and abortion services should compel Congress to extend funding restrictions on the abortion goliath through budget reconciliation \u2014 a last-ditch effort to rectify what should have been accomplished at the start of the session.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Congress had the exceptional opportunity to pass a 10-year funding ban on abortion providers. They botched it, approving only a one-year ban instead, set to expire July 4. Congress had another opportunity to extend funding restrictions in April by attaching an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawley.senate.gov\/hawley-files-budget-amendment-to-extend-ban-on-planned-parenthood-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">amendment<\/a> to \u201cReconciliation 2.0.\u201d It failed.  <\/p>\n<p>Congress now has very little time to act to block hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars from once again funding the nation\u2019s leading abortion and sex-rejecting treatment provider. The coming week will determine how representatives in government work to protect or misdirect the money placed at their disposal.<\/p>\n<h2>Taxpayer Funding Continues<\/h2>\n<p>Planned Parenthood raked in <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-planned-parenthoods-2023-24-annual-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than $700 million<\/a> in 2023-24 taxpayer funding, acquiring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/financials\/planned-parenthood-execs-among-highest-earning-nonprofit-sector-pay-new-report-finds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unprecedented wealth<\/a> as a not-for-profit. Federal funding of the organization took a significant hit when the Trump administration halted Medicaid payments for abortion providers under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1\/text#ycfa9dec8-790c-11f0-9331-55115c4e2a93\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">One Big Beautiful Bill Act<\/a> on July 4, 2025. Restrictions on Title X funds and a U.S. Supreme Court ruling directing abortion reimbursements to remain in states\u2019 hands have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/medicaid\/the-impact-of-medicaid-and-title-x-on-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contributed to cuts<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>But revenue is still coming in. A report by the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) and the American Principles Project found that Planned Parenthood has expanded into the lucrative \u201ctransgender medicine\u201d business in a big way, capitalizing on sex-rejecting treatments and mutilation of gender-confused youth.<\/p>\n<p>In fiscal year 2024-2025, Planned Parenthood \u201creported receiving approximately $832 million in \u2018Government Health Services Reimbursements &#038; Grants,\u2019\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/biologicalintegrity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Planned-Parenthood-Leading-Provider-of-Sex-Rejecting-Procedures-and-Services.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The numbers are significant and disturbing. According to the report, cross-sex hormone treatments and procedures are now accessible at nearly 80 percent of Planned Parenthood clinics, outstripping access to abortion. Data is limited, but some states reported a more than 400 percent increase in sex-rejecting procedure visits between 2018-2025. <\/p>\n<p>In a press statement, Dr. Jill Simons, ACPeds executive director, said the evidence in the report should send an urgent message to Congress to defund Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood and its affiliates received more than $1.5 billion in Medicaid and Medicare payments in a three-year period, noted Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawley.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-11-Hawley-Letter-to-Oz.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, earlier this month. These taxpayer dollars were designed to aid the impoverished and elderly but have instead funded the sex-change drugs and transgender surgeries Planned Parenthood openly advertises. A lack of medical documentation in dealings with minors, subversive actions, and \u201cpushing transgender madness\u201d onto children warrants immediate investigation, he said.<\/p>\n<h2>Planned Parenthood\u2019s Non-Compliance<\/h2>\n<p>Planned Parenthood has aided the transgender medical market for years, at an unknown cost to the American public. Concerns over misuse of funds led the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency to open an <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/burchett-and-biggs-continue-investigation-of-planned-parenthoods-misuse-of-federal-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigation<\/a> into the organization last June regarding abortions and the provision of \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d services to minors by circumventing parental consent. Lawmakers <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/burchett-and-biggs-continue-investigation-of-planned-parenthoods-misuse-of-federal-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> that as of May, Planned Parenthood was still not fully compliant with information requests.<\/p>\n<p>Another federal effort aimed at dismantling the madness, the <a href=\"https:\/\/litigationtracker.law.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/declaration-pediatric-sex-rejecting-procedures.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cKennedy Declaration,\u201d<\/a> denounced \u201csex-rejecting procedures for children and adolescents\u201d in 2025.\u00a0A peer-reviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/press-room\/hhs-releases-peer-reviewed-report-discrediting-pediatric-sex-rejecting-procedures.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> preceding the declaration, aligned with evidence from rigorous European reviews, found the risks of transition treatment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-administration-fighting-against-transgender-surgery-for-minors\/\" title=\"DeSantis Administration Fighting Against Transgender Surgery For ...\">gender dysphoric youth outweigh<\/a> any benefit. <\/p>\n<p>Groups like Planned Parenthood profit from irreversible mutilation and sterilization. The result has been a cascade of lawsuits, detransition cases, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC3043071\/?utm_source=substack&#038;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suicides<\/a>. The experiment has evidently failed.<\/p>\n<p>While the government <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.maryland.gov\/News\/Documents\/pdfs\/Binder19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">battles<\/a> a multi-state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atg.wa.gov\/news\/news-releases\/ag-brown-co-leads-multistate-challenge-federal-attack-gender-affirming-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coalition<\/a> fighting to retain Medicaid funding of the so-called \u201ccare,\u201d after Kennedy declared it unsupportable, Planned Parenthood clinics continue to ignore the federal directive to stop the treatment.<\/p>\n<h2>Next Steps<\/h2>\n<p>The American people, federal government, and major international medical associations have all rejected the medicalization of minors with irreversible mutilating surgeries and cross-sex hormones. <\/p>\n<p>Detransitioned young adults, increasingly in the public eye through high-profile lawsuits, repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.org\/article\/planned-parenthoods-legacy-its-worse-you-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">identify Planned Parenthood<\/a> clinics as their gateway to these procedures. Their stories shine a light on widespread\u00a0malpractice and negligence at the hands of Planned Parenthood staff and management.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood\u2019s continued involvement in disproven, radically experimental surgeries targeting vulnerable populations should forfeit their ability to access federal dollars. <\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has taken significant steps to disentangle taxpayer dollars from ideologically driven organizations that campaign on the degradation of children and dismantling of families, most recently filing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/news-events\/news\/press-releases\/2026\/06\/ftc-states-sue-world-professional-association-transgender-health-over-deceptive-claims-regarding-treatment-children\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health for deceiving parents; Congress has a similar responsibility to protect public dollars from funding subversive and harmful medical practices. <\/p>\n<p>Congress should act quickly to extend the ban on abortion funding, limit the targeting of minors suffering irreparable harm, and cement a necessary turning point from what is sure to be a stain on America\u2019s national history.   <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Ashley Bateman is a policy writer for The Heartland Institute.
