And then imagine that very same institution \u2014 the one you\u2019ve poured your blood, sweat, and tears into for years \u2014 turns on you and brands you the enemy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the more than 8,000 U.S. service members booted from the military for declining to comply with the Biden administration\u2019s Covid shot mandate, they don\u2019t have to imagine it. They lived it. <\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1686271068\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a new documentary, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/dutytodisobeyfilm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Duty to Disobey<\/a><\/em>, several of these courageous voices have come forward to tell their stories of what it was like to fight the mandate that Trump War Secretary Pete Hegseth has since <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/24\/hegseth-orders-additional-guidance-to-reenlist-troops-booted-over-bidens-unlawful-covid-shot-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recognized<\/a> was \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/09\/report-trump-admin-ousts-official-who-shepherded-bidens-military-covid-jab-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unlawful<\/a>.\u201d Filled with accounts of heartbreak, anguish, and betrayal, the film illustrates the significance of standing up for what is right \u2014 even if doing so costs you everything. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Much of what makes <em>Duty to Disobey<\/em> so compelling is the decision to have the service members relay their own stories in the best way they know how. It\u2019s one thing to read about a soldier\u2019s or sailor\u2019s experience throughout the entire Covid saga or to hear it reported out by some news broadcaster. Getting to witness the service members tell it themselves, however, adds a whole new element that permits the viewer to connect with these people on an emotional level and invest in their journeys throughout the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neither the filmmakers nor the service members shy away from any so-called \u201ccontroversial\u201d topic, either. This includes in-depth analyses of the mandate\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/09\/report-trump-admin-ousts-official-who-shepherded-bidens-military-covid-jab-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unlawfulness<\/a>, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/covid-jab-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">risks<\/a> associated with getting the vaccines. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. \u2014 who is also featured in the documentary for his work investigating the shots\u2019 development and approval \u2014 has released <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/21\/report-biden-admin-downplayed-and-delayed-warnings-about-covid-shot-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">various<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ronjohnson.senate.gov\/2026\/04\/29\/media-advisory-psi-chairman-johnson-releases-report-will-hold-hearing-on-biden-health-officials-failure-to-detect-covid-19-vaccine-safety-signals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">committee reports<\/a> indicating that the Biden administration downplayed and ignored safety warnings about the jabs\u2019 potential side effects leading up to their release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most devastating cases is that of former Army Staff Sergeant Drew Outstanding, who detailed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/could-vaccines-make-sars-cov-2-infection-worse-scientists-weigh-in-on-antibody-dependent-enhancement\/\" title=\"Could Vaccines Make SARS-CoV-2 Infection Worse? Scientists Weigh in on Antibody Dependent Enhancement\">myriad health problems<\/a> (among them, severe neurological issues) he experienced after getting the second dose of the Covid shot. Once known for his big, charismatic smile, Outstanding can no longer fully make the facial expression \u2014 not even for his young son.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The maddening consequences, the pain, the trauma \u2014 it\u2019s all very real. And the documentary lays it all bare with no filters whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By far, the biggest takeaway from the film and its interviewed service members is that there must be accountability for what was done to them and the millions of troops across the force. While they praised the Trump administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/12\/16\/hegseth-orders-review-of-discharge-characterizations-for-troops-booted-over-bidens-covid-shot-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">actions<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.war.gov\/News\/News-Stories\/Article\/Article\/4439738\/department-extends-invitation-to-bring-back-troops-separated-for-refusing-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">right the wrongs<\/a> of the past <a href=\"https:\/\/federalnewsnetwork.com\/defense-news\/2026\/04\/flu-vaccine-no-longer-mandated-for-us-troops-hegseth-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thus far<\/a>, they pressed them to pursue the much-needed cleaning of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/11\/25\/exclusive-war-dept-battles-internal-resistance-to-reinstate-86-soldiers-ejected-by-covid-shot-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recalcitrant bureaucracy<\/a> that was willing to sideline the constitutional freedoms of the troops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Duty to Disobey<\/em> is a stark reminder of the Biden presidency\u2019s and military swamp\u2019s egregious treatment of those who honorably served their country. But it should also serve as a rallying cry for Trump administration officials and lawmakers alike to do whatever it takes to ensure real accountability and that such cruelty never happens again. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Duty to Disobey<\/em> will run in select theaters across America on June 30.
