The Democratic primary in Colorado\u2019s 1st Congressional District is competitive, with socialist Melat Kiros challenging longtime incumbent Democrat Diana DeGette. In the Senate race, incumbent Democrat John Hickenlooper faces a primary challenge from former socialist State Senator Julie Gonzales, with the winner competing against Republican nominee State Senator Mark Baisley. The only House race considered a toss-up by Cook Political Report is Colorado\u2019s 8th District, where GOP Rep. Mike Evans is defending his seat against Democratic challengers Manny Rutinel and Shannon Bird.
