That the issue even had to be settled by the Supreme Court reveals how little respect the left has for our immigration laws, but it\u2019s not like they pretend to have any as it is. <\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2997341190\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Democrats, having fought snaggletooth and press-on nail to keep their precious, destitute foreigners here (new voting blocs, as they like to see them), are now openly calling for not only the permanent stay of these \u201ctemporary\u201d migrants, but their full citizenship. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a moral duty to protect TPS holders,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/westernlensman\/status\/2070213981650698396?s=46&#038;t=VL7JYC49nocdyMkQaKwyJg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Democrat Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts after the ruling, \u201cand provide this vulnerable group with protections and a permanent pathway to citizenship in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrat Rep. Nydia Vel\u00e1zquez of New York likewise <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NydiaVelazquez\/status\/2070191803202986462?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cTPS holders belong here\u201d and called on Congress to \u201ccreate a pathway to citizenship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My oh my, how quickly things have changed since these same people were swearing up and down that Haiti and other Third World hellscapes were actually pristine lands of milk and honey. Recall the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/01\/15\/if-it-werent-for-the-constitution-america-would-be-a-sh-thole-country-too\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2018 hysteria<\/a> of Trump Term 1 when the president was rumored to have referred to Haiti and other comparable non-destinations as \u201csh-thole countries.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The whole media and Democrat Party acted as if they had to pause their Habitat for Humanity projects to share a cry. They leapt to their feet to call Trump \u2014 what else? \u2014 <em>raaaacist! <\/em>That went on for what felt like 60 years, with TV people diligently shoving microphones in the mouths of Republican lawmakers demanding to know whether they also agreed that Haiti, renowned for its <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >world-class judicial system<\/a> and advanced plumbing system, was a sh-thole. <\/p>\n<p>Though the president <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/951793123985973248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E951793123985973248%7Ctwgr%5E51d98ea0ffc55fe99f7365f2dc5f641c391295ac%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.npr.org%2F2018%2F01%2F12%2F577598401%2Fin-morning-tweet-trump-denies-calling-african-countries-by-a-vulgar-slur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied<\/a> using the reported language, choosing where your country accepts people from is no more controversial than choosing what foods you want to put in your body. Given a choice between a steamed lobster tail and the puddles of paste that Ethiopian restaurants serve, I choose the lobster. And so apparently would Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>With fond memory, let\u2019s harken back to CNN\u2019s Anderson Cooper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/01\/11\/politics\/anderson-cooper-emotional-haiti-tribute-ac-cnntv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">choking back tears<\/a> to declare that he had \u201cnever met a Haitian who isn\u2019t strong.\u201d He went on to say that strength is required for Haitians who \u201csurvive in a place where the government has often abandoned its people, where opportunities are few and where Mother Nature has punished the people far more than anyone should ever be punished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So is it a sh-thole or not? It can\u2019t be both.<\/p>\n<p>If it\u2019s not, like they said before, there\u2019s no reason these people can\u2019t be sent back. But even if it is, they can be and they should be.
