Boelter pleaded guilty to killing the Hortmans, wounding State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, and attempting to shoot their daughter during the incident that occurred on June 14, 2025. He is expected to serve two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2018-parkland-high-school-shooter-sentenced-to-life-in-prison\/\" title=\"2018 Parkland High School Shooter Sentenced to ... in ...\">consecutive life terms<\/a> plus 40 years in prison following a plea deal approved by Judge John Tunheim.<\/p>\n<p>Boelter was indicted on federal charges including murder and stalking, and faced a 43-hour manhunt before being captured. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >faces multiple state charges<\/a>, which coudl result in a life sentence without parole if convicted.The Hoffmans, who survived the attack, are suing Boelter for assault and emotional distress, with their daughter Hope impacted emotionally and academically. He previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his latest plea, Boelter admitted to killing the Hortmans, wounding Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, and attempting to shoot the latter couple\u2019s daughter on June 14, 2025. The Hoffmans were hospitalized for roughly six weeks due to serious injuries, but they ultimately survived. The civil lawsuit states their adult daughter, Hope, suspended her education because of the emotional trauma she experienced during the attack.
