There were two notes believed to be valid, with the first <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/US\/nancy-guthrie-abduction-2nd-ransom-note-tucson-tv\/story?id=134107878\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demanding<\/a> a ransom in cryptocurrency for her release. The second note, mentioned above, informed about Guthrie\u2019s accidental death, according to ABC News. Both notes were sent shortly after her disappearance on Feb. 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second ransom note, which mentioned Guthrie\u2019s death, was known by <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/06\/22\/us\/nancy-guthrie-ransom-note\">CNN<\/a> and a television station in Tucson, Arizona, CNN <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/06\/22\/us\/nancy-guthrie-ransom-note\">reported<\/a>. However, both outlets honored a request from law enforcement officials not to publicize it to aid the investigation into Guthrie\u2019s disappearance.
