class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pollster David Paleologos told the <em>Washington Examiner <\/em>that Hispanic voters were showing signs of \u201cbuyer\u2019s remorse\u201d after trending toward the GOP during the Trump era.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYoung Hispanic men are starting to defect President Trump and the GOP,\u201d said Paleologos, director of Suffolk University\u2019s Political Research Center. \u201cThe drivers of some of this exodus are the high <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"728\">cost of living <\/a>and the high social cost of removing <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/illegal-immigrants\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1972\">immigrants<\/a> in its current form.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad href=\"https:\/\/unidosus.org\/press-releases\/new-unidosus-bipartisan-poll-hispanic-voters-feeling-economically-strained-concerned-about-their-safety\/\"> poll<\/a> last month by the left-leaning <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/unidosus.org\/press-releases\/new-unidosus-bipartisan-poll-hispanic-voters-feeling-economically-strained-concerned-about-their-safety\/\">UnidosUS<\/a> found more than two-thirds of Latino voters consider the country to be headed in the wrong direction, and roughly the same percentage of respondents told pollsters President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans are not concentrating enough on improving the economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, the poll found two-thirds of Latino voters disapprove of Trump\u2019s job performance so far and that one-quarter of Latino voters who voted for Trump in 2024 would not cast a ballot for him again, citing the cost of living and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"728\">inflation<\/a> (44%), immigration enforcement (33%), job and wage stagnation (26%), and the war in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/iran\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"100\">Iran<\/a> (25%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Republican strategist Cesar Conda conceded the decrease in Trump and Republicans\u2019 approval ratings among Latino voters is similarly captured by polling of the broader public.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-5\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-26\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMuch of it comes down to the economy, especially the impact of higher energy prices following the Iran conflict,\u201d Conda told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. \u201cIf the administration is able to successfully stabilize the situation with Iran and reduce uncertainty in energy markets, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gas-prices\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"940\">gasoline prices<\/a> could level off or decline by Election Day, potentially easing one of the biggest economic pressures on voters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conda, the first chief of staff to Secretary of State Marco Rubio when he was in the Senate and a founder of lobbying firm Navigators Global, added that although the economy is important, \u201cfor many <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cuba\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"212\">Cuban<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/venezuela\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"910\">Venezuelan<\/a>, and other communities with personal or family ties to authoritarian regimes, the defense of freedom and democracy in their countries of origin can be just as \u2014 or even more \u2014 important than pocketbook issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA meaningful breakthrough on promoting democratic change in Cuba or Venezuela could reshape the political landscape and create a powerful source of support among voters who view foreign policy and human rights as deeply personal issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDemocrats are focused on delivering for the American people, lowering costs, and defending our fundamental rights,\u201d UnidosUS spokesman Angelo
