Musk moved Tesla production facilities from California to Texas, and in October 2021, he announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tesla-announces-will-relocate-headquarters-fascist-democrat-run-california-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the company\u2019s headquarters<\/a> would be moving, too.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, he moved SpaceX and X \u2014 the social media platform formerly known as Twitter that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elon-musks-4-word-first-tweet-twitter-owner-sets-stage-come\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he purchased in 2022<\/a> \u2014 to Texas from their California homes.<\/p>\n<p>And with those companies went unimaginable wealth \u2014 in taxes the businesses paid, in economic activity their employees generated, in all the ways a free people choose to use their hard-earned income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis single cost California hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes, revenue, and jobs,\u201d investment banker and author John LeFevre wrote in an X post on Friday as the SpaceX IPO dominated headlines.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This single cost California hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes, revenue, and jobs: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eXwbX4gi1l\">pic.twitter.com\/eXwbX4gi1l<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 John LeFevre (@JohnLeFevre) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JohnLeFevre\/status\/2065554195239838077?\">June 12, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Taking LeFevre\u2019s estimate at its most conservative, California\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >rapaciously tax-addicted government<\/a> is losing out on $100 billion thanks to Musk\u2019s departure \u2014 a departure California\u2019s remaining taxpayers can thank Gonzalez Fletcher for.<\/p>\n<p>Gonzalez Fletcher has left the California Assembly, but she\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppic.org\/person\/lorena-gonzalez-fletcher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">still in public life<\/a> as president of the California Federation of Labor Unions.
