This placement was challenged during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, where Rep. Tom Tiffany questioned SPLC&#8217;s interim president about the rationale behind labeling Moms for Liberty as a hate group.He argued that Moms for Liberty is not racist and that disagreements over issues like gender policies are valid debates.<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC, known for claiming to combat white supremacy and inequality, has broadened its hate map to include organizations supporting parental rights, christianity, or opposing LGBT policies. Many Christian and conservative groups, including Moms for Liberty, have been falsely labeled as hate groups, leading to harassment, job loss, and even violence-highlighted by the 2012 attack on the Family Research Council, which was motivated by SPLC&#8217;s hate map.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates, including moms for Liberty leader Alexandra bougher, criticize SPLC for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-cant-claim-presidential-immunity-against-2020-election-charges-appeals-court\/\" title=\"Appeals court denies Trump&#039;s presidential immunity for 2020 election charges\">knowingly spreading false information<\/a>, which has <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >caused critically important personal<\/a> and financial harm. The DOJ has indicted SPLC for fraud and false statements, alleging that SPLC falsely claims to warn about hate while secretly funding racist groups with over $3 million between 2014 and 2023. additionally, the association allegedly deceived corporations and government agencies, leading to reliance on its flawed information.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI ceased ties with SPLC in 2025 due to its radical activities. Meanwhile, SPLC faces scrutiny and legal consequences for its actions, and Moms for liberty continues to stand firm against persecution, emphasizing their commitment to protecting children and advocating for parental rights.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern Poverty Law Center<\/a> placed the conservative parents\u2019 rights group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.momsforliberty.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moms for Liberty <\/a>on its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/hate-map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hate map<\/a>\u201d alongside the KKK, Antifa, and neo-Nazi organizations in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>But last week in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/1e51MBvBSRk?si=BwQnr309VKmr5crT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">House Judiciary Committee hearing<\/a> on the SPLC, Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., vindicated Moms for Liberty by slamming Bryan K. Fair, the SPLC\u2019s\u00a0interim president and chief executive officer, for placing them on the map.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NVgBOqv84wc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asked<\/a> Fair, \u201cWhy was it important for your organization to put the Moms for Liberty on a hate map?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fair responded, \u201cMoms for Liberty is listed on our hate map because it demeans and vilifies people based on mutable characteristics,\u201d he said, referring to biological sex.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany replied, \u201cMoms for Liberty is not a racist organization. They may differ with you [regarding] gender mutilation for children \u2026 but I think that\u2019s a fair debate to be having!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-pushes-pro-censorship-partisan-leftist-gigi-sohn-for-fcc-commissioner\/\" title=\"Biden Pushes Pro-Censorship Partisan Leftist Gigi Sohn for FCC Commissioner\">leftist advocacy group<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claims<\/a> to \u201cdismantle white supremacy\u201d and \u201celiminate economic inequality.\u201d The organization started a \u201chate map\u201d in 2000 to flag racist groups, but it now <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/24\/how-the-southern-poverty-law-center-started-inventing-hate-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flags<\/a> practically any organization that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-attacks-book-ban-myths-about-florida-schools-branding-them-hoaxes\/\" title=\"DeSantis Attacks Book-Ban Myths About Florida Schools, Branding Them \u2018Hoaxes\u2019\">supports parental rights<\/a>, Christianity, or opposes LGBT insanity and transgender mutilation surgery.<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC has many Christian, conservative organizations besides Moms for Liberty flagged as \u201chate groups\u201d on its website, leading Moms for Liberty chapter leader Alexandra Bougher to speak up on their behalf on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/426-the-vicki-mckenna-show-27246267\/now-playing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>The Vicki McKenna Show<\/em><\/a>  on iHeartRadio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have been doxxed, swatted, lost their jobs \u2026 because of this hate map,\u201d she said on the radio interview. \u201cThe fact that the [SPLC] has no remorse over it is disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The hate map led to worse than a lost job in 2012 when a gunman <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/22\/flashback-indicted-splc-once-targeted-the-federalist-for-publishing-an-attorney-generals-speech\/\">stormed<\/a> into the lobby of the Family Research Council, a conservative family and education non-profit. The gunman shot a security guard before being subdued. An FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/2013\/04\/25\/fbi-video-family-research-council-shooter-admits-he-used-southern-poverty-law-hate-map-to-track-down-target\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interrogation<\/a> revealed that the shooter chose FRC after he found it on the SPLC\u2019s hate map for being anti-LGBT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe as Americans should be able to disagree on things without being smeared or demonized \u2026 we don\u2019t need to destroy someone\u2019s life because we don\u2019t see eye to eye,\u201d Bougher said in the interview. The DOJ announced an 11-count <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/federal-grand-jury-charges-southern-poverty-law-center-wire-fraud-false-statements-and\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indictment<\/a> in April against the SPLC for fraud and false statements, and scheduled a federal trial for October. The DOJ found that the \u201cSPLC is lying to everyone, saying that they\u2019re warning people of hate, meanwhile funding the hate groups to make more money,\u201d Bougher explained. \u201cIt\u2019s absolutely sickening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC secretly funneled <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/27\/watchdog-your-tax-dollars-funded-the-splc-while-the-splc-funded-racist-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">over<\/a> $3 million to racist, extremist groups, including the KKK and the American Nazi Party, while simultaneously claiming to fight them between 2014 and 2023, according to the DOJ. \u201cThe objective of the scheme and artifice was to obtain money via donations through materially false representations and omissions about what the donated funds would be used for,\u201d the DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/federal-grand-jury-charges-southern-poverty-law-center-wire-fraud-false-statements-and\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For years, the SPLC deceived major corporations by acting like a heroic crime-fighting group. \u201c[The SPLC] did have an original mission of fighting hate and extremism \u2026 and that\u2019s why a lot of people believe them \u2026 [but] it has totally veered from that,\u201d Bougher said. The SPLC used its name to seduce companies, \u201cthe federal government, [and] media agencies, [to] rely on SPLC and what they say, and [not] do their own research \u2026 and unfortunately [the SPLC] fuel[s] so much division in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden-Harris administration heavily <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/07\/biden-doj-was-in-cahoots-with-splc-as-it-funded-extremist-groups-former-official-admits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relied<\/a> on advice from the SPLC, a letter from Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, to The Daily Signal <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/in-the-news\/just-how-closely-did-bidens-doj-rely-splc-jim-jordan-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">found<\/a>. Among other details, the letter stated that the DOJ\u2019s Civil Rights Division under the Biden Administration\u00a0partnered with the SPLC, \u201cincluding scheduling regular meetings, giving the SPLC early access to federal law-enforcement data, and also allowing SPLC employees to train DOJ prosecutors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/10\/03\/fbi-southern-poverty-law-center-cut-ties-00593416\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cut ties<\/a> with the SPLC under the Trump Administration in 2025 because of its radical activities.<\/p>\n<p>Moms for Liberty faced persecution by the SPLC, and the SPLC is now reaping in court what it sowed for years. But if another group arises to demonize Moms for Liberty for its conservative views, \u201cMoms for Liberty has special parents here, and we never give up. We don\u2019t get intimidated, just take the next foot forward \u2026 [because] we\u2019re in charge of our children\u2019s future.
