The players, expressing their faith, faced backlash from critics who accused them of hijacking the pride night, while others, including comedian Rob schneider, publicly pledged to support and financially back Christian players displaying Bible verses. The MLB&#8217;s enforcement appears inconsistent,as similar actions by other players have not resulted in warnings. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &#038; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>Major League Baseball (MLB) threatened to punish several Christian ballplayers for the San Francisco Giants on Monday after they inscribed Bible verses on their team\u2019s \u201cpride night\u201d uniforms. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations,\u201d MLB Chief Communications Officer Pat Courtney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/story\/_\/id\/49079138\/mlb-decries-use-personal-writings-pride-night-hats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement to media outlets. <\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-817632837\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The league further claimed that \u201cwriting on uniforms violates MLB rules,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7news.com\/post\/san-francisco-giants-players-draw-backlash-writing-bible-verses-pride-night-caps\/19305024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">local media<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The warning came days after pitchers Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker all <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/15\/inclusive-left-attacks-giants-players-for-expressing-christian-faith-on-pride-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> variations of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis%209%3A12-16&#038;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genesis 9:12-16<\/a> on their LGBT-themed hats during the Giants\u2019 Friday matchup against the Chicago Cubs. The Bible verses detail God\u2019s use of a rainbow to symbolize His covenant that He would never again destroy mankind by flooding the Earth. <\/p>\n<p>Giants pitcher Sam Hentges declined to wear the team\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" ><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-library-places-gender-theory-books-next-to-bible-in-display-removes-after-backlash\/\" title=\"Virginia Library Places Gender Theory Books Next To Bible In Display, Removes After Backlash\">rainbow-colored hat<\/a> altogether<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just something I believe in and I stand firm in that. Thankfully we live in a country where we have the freedom to believe what we want,\u201d Roupp said when asked about his decision by reporters. \u201cThere\u2019s no hate at all. It\u2019s just what I stand for, and what I stand in. I believe in God.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Supposedly \u201cinclusive\u201d and \u201ctolerant\u201d leftists <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/15\/inclusive-left-attacks-giants-players-for-expressing-christian-faith-on-pride-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quickly attacked<\/a> the players for professing their Christian faith. From the pages of The Athletic to the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sfchronicle\/status\/2066868532835487947?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Francisco Chronicle<\/a>, they accused the pitchers of making it about \u201cus versus them\u201d and \u201chijacking\u201d the night for their own purposes. Such commentary conveniently ignored how LGBT activists \u201chijacked\u201d the rainbow to push their anti-truth ideology. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, comedian and actor Rob Schneider <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RobSchneider\/status\/2066796902021210190?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pledged<\/a> to \u201cpay the fines for any @MLB Christian player who wears a Bible verse on their uniform\u201d in response to the league\u2019s Monday warning. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c@MLB is ANTI-CHRISTIAN,\u201d Schneider wrote on X. <\/p>\n<p>The decision by MLB \u2014 which a few short weeks ago <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MLB\/status\/2061447908541555102?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proclaimed<\/a> that \u201cBaseball is for everyone\u201d \u2014 to threaten the Giants players over their refusal to partake in \u201cPride Month\u201d degeneracy appears to be a new step for the league in its apparent anti-Christian crusade. As Outkick\u2019s Jon Root <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonnyRoot_\/status\/2066740161883590813?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observed<\/a>, MLB reportedly didn\u2019t issue a similar warning to then-Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/clayton-kershaw-includes-genesis-verse-on-lgbt-pride-night.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inscribing<\/a> the same Bible verses on his rainbow-colored hat last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers generated <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/23\/the-anti-christian-los-angeles-dodgers-deserve-the-bud-light-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">widespread attention<\/a> in 2023 for inviting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence \u2014 whose drag members <a href=\"https:\/\/cbn.com\/news\/entertainment\/bishops-point-blasphemy-la-dodgers-give-hero-award-anti-christian-drag-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mock<\/a> Christianity by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktvu.com\/news\/l-a-dodgers-disinvite-sisters-of-perpetual-indulgence-to-pride-night-rescind-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dressing up<\/a> as so-called \u201cqueer and trans nuns\u201d and making obscene spoofs of the crucifixion \u2014 to their \u201cpride night.\u201d After initially disinviting the radical group, the Dodgers subsequently re-invited them and apologized before pledging to \u201cwork with [their] LGBTQ+ partners to better educate\u201d themselves on such issues. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Shawn Fleetwood is a staff writer for The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
