Its board members and affiliated organizations are linked to left-wing activism, large funding sources like Soros\u2019 foundations, and efforts to influence Ohio\u2019s voting laws, including efforts to expand voting access through proposed constitutional amendments.<\/p>\n<p>Opponents argue that these activities threaten election integrity, while Democrats dismiss the investigation as another attempt to suppress voting rights. the group\u2019s extensive funding, over $35 million since 2020, and connections to prominent leftist organizations and high-profile legal and political actors have raised concerns about the influence of partisan money and agendas in election-related activities.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, federal investigations are ongoing into election interference in Milwaukee, Georgia, Michigan, and California, targeting alleged illegal practices, false registrations, and ballot tampering, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to ensuring fair elections and confidence in electoral processes.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Democrats are decrying last week\u2019s FBI raid on the headquarters of an Ohio \u201cvoting rights\u201d group as a political witch hunt, an \u201cintimidation\u201d investigation by a Trump administration fixated on probing election fraud. <\/p>\n<p>But buried in the breathless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2026\/jun\/12\/fbi-raid-ohio-voting-group-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">corporate media coverage<\/a> is the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/ohio-organizing-collaborative-ooc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Soros-funded <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohorganizing.org\">Ohio Organizing Collaborative<\/a> has a track record of voter registration fraud and ties to a for-profit political canvassing company with a history of suspect voter registration activities. <\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Unfounded Speculation\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2026\/06\/12\/fbi-searches-offices-ohio-voter-registration-group-seizing-computers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiple reports<\/a>, the FBI late last week executed search warrants at the OOC\u2019s Cleveland offices. Agents simultaneously questioned several employees at their homes, OOC board member <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpifund.org\/people\/prentiss-haney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prentiss Haney<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/ohio-voting-rights-group-facing-criminal-fraud-investigation-sources-say\/ar-AA25v31H?gemSnapshotKey=GM80D6CFB4-snapshot-9&#038;uxmode=ruby&#038;cvid=6a3036dd61a84fd795c211d6007c9595&#038;ei=64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">  told<\/a> CBS News. The far-left community organizer, who formerly served as the collaborative\u2019s co-executive director, described the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/150-missing-children-found-in-tennessee-as-part-of-operation-volunteer-strong\/\" title=\"150 Missing Children Found In Tennessee As Part Of \u2018Operation Volunteer Strong\u2019\">law enforcement operation<\/a> as a \u201cfull-on assault,\u201d insisting that \u201cwe haven\u2019t seen anything like this since\u201d the 1965 civil rights battles in Selma, Alabama. <\/p>\n<p>An FBI official did not return The Federalist\u2019s request for comment on Monday. A Department of Justice official in a previous statement to the media declined to comment on the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSearch warrants are authorized by a judge and anything said by any organization or others in the media is unfounded speculation, as the target of any investigation is not privy to the search warrant affidavit until after the indictment,\u201d the DOJ official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/ohio-organizing-collaborative-fraud-investigation-fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a statement. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019ve been saying for a long time that Ohio has a problem with third-party voter engagement organizations, defrauding elections. This FBI raid should result in laws prohibiting non-election official activities. We already have online voter registration. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/znZF2TcHjx\">https:\/\/t.co\/znZF2TcHjx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marcell Strbich (@marcellstrbich) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/marcellstrbich\/status\/2065404557803311491?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 12, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Democrats, without a shred of information about the investigation to back their claims, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/repemiliasykes\/posts\/this-egregious-federal-overreach-is-another-example-of-coordinated-efforts-to-su\/993664416965033\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blasted<\/a> the probe as \u201canother example to suppress voting rights and voter registration.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny attempt to intimidate Ohio voters is wrong, and will not work,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZfe5cRuS4T\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">huffed<\/a> former Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, who, refusing to take no for an answer from Buckeye State voters, is making another Senate run two years after losing his seat.<\/p>\n<p>What Ohio Democrats didn\u2019t mention in their overheated, ignorant statements is that the Ohio Organizing Collaborative has garnered a \u201cbad reputation\u201d for its actions in pursuit of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohorganizing.org\/theory-of-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leftist mission <\/a>to \u201cbuild enough power to advance a shared political agenda in Ohio for racial, economic, and gender justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2017,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/116\/meeting\/house\/108824\/documents\/HHRG-116-JU00-20190129-SD020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rebecca Hammonds<\/a>, a canvasser for the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, was convicted of falsely registering voters, including deceased individuals. Hammonds, who originally was charged with 35 counts of election fraud, was sentenced to six months in county jail. Public defender Jennifer Gorby chalked up her client\u2019s actions to \u201ca lack of judgment\u201d in an effort to keep her job with the leftist voter turnout group. <\/p>\n<p>Hammonds told Judge C. Ashley Pike \u201cthat she felt pressure to sign up as many registered voters as possible after being told the canvassers\u2019 failure to meet certain goals could result in the OOC\u2019s local funding being pulled,\u201d the Salem News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salemnews.net\/news\/local-news\/2017\/03\/el%E2%80%88woman-gets-jail-for-voter-registration-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> at the time. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just felt I needed to keep the numbers up,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salemnews.net\/news\/local-news\/2017\/03\/el%E2%80%88woman-gets-jail-for-voter-registration-fraud\/\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/29\/this-is-fraud-ohio-investigators-looking-into-suspect-voter-registrations-tied-to-left-wing-firm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in a 2024 investigation, one of OOC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpifund.org\/people\/kirk-noden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">board member<\/a>s, left-wing activist Kirk Noden, founded the Ohio-based \u201cengagement firm\u201d which was investigated for turning in \u201cstacks\u201d of suspicious voter registration cards to county election officials. <\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Outright Fraudulent Behavior\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Noden is a \u201cveteran community organizer who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-is-fraud-ohio-investigators-eye-suspect-voter-registrations\/\" title=\"&#039;This Is Fraud&#039;: ... Investigators Eye Suspect ...s\">successfully founded community organizations<\/a> in Chicago, Birmingham England, and Ohio,\u201d according to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpifund.org\/people\/kirk-noden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bio<\/a> on the webpage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpifund.org\/who-we-are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democracy &#038; Power Innovation Fund.<\/a> The DPI Fund is a partnership of some very far-left groups, including <a href=\"https:\/\/vdlf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voces de la Frontera<\/a>, Wisconsin-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blocbybloc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BLOC (Black Leaders Organizing Communities)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohorganizing.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio Organizing Collaborative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, Kirk directs a set of movement aligned and owned LLCs including a consulting co-op that advises an array of national and state donors, a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >field vendor executes large scale electoral programs<\/a>, and a social justice taproom and Mexican Kitchen that houses the Drink Your Values project,\u201d the bio asserts. <\/p>\n<p>In one case, the Hamilton County Board of Elections received a registration form in the name of deceased former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. At a board meeting, the county\u2019s top election official presented a thick stack of voter registrations that all appeared to be in the same handwriting, and were submitted by the same canvasser. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first thing I want to point out is, you know, we use words like \u2018anomalies,\u2019 \u2018suspicion,\u2019 and everything else because we try to be PC, I guess. But this is fraud, outright fraudulent behavior,\u201d Hamilton County Board of Elections member Alex Triantafilou told fellow board members at the time. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boe.cuyahogacounty.gov\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cuyahoga County Board of Elections<\/a> Director Anthony Perlatti told members at a June 21, 2023 meeting that \u201cmultiple counties have encountered issues with potential registration cards being submitted from deceased individuals,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/boe.cuyahogacounty.gov\/docs\/default-source\/boe\/board-meeting-documents\/2023-06-21-minutes.pdf?sfvrsn=71348336_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to<\/a> the board\u2019s minutes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlack Fork Strategies\u00a0has had a bad reputation for a while, and it\u2019s no secret that we\u2019ve referred its operatives to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution,\u201d Dan Lushek, spokesman for Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/29\/this-is-fraud-ohio-investigators-looking-into-suspect-voter-registrations-tied-to-left-wing-firm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> The Federalist in 2024.\u00a0Nothing much became of the referrals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive alarm \ud83d\udd25 over at <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OHDems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@OHDems<\/a>. Do they always react this way when there\u2019s \u2018nothing to find?\u2019 Asking for a friend,\u201d La Rose wrote on X in response to Ohio Dems\u2019 statements on the recent FBI raid. <\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<h2>Big Left Money<\/h2>\n<p>The OOC is tied to myriad left-wing activist groups and claims to be building \u201ca broad-based movement to end the criminalization of poverty.\u201d Its policy focus, according to the group\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohorganizing.org\/theory-of-change\">website,<\/a> is on \u201cyoung people, low income people, and Black people.\u201d As charity tracker InfluenceWatch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/ohio-organizing-collaborative-ooc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>, OOC\u2019s sister group, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/ohio-organizing-campaign-ooc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio Organizing Campaign<\/a>, \u201cfocuses on registering and mobilizing voters of the same demographics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the collaborative has received significant funding from groups such as far-left sugar daddy George Soros\u2019 Foundation to Promote Open Society (at least $2 million), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/for-profit\/arabella-advisors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arabella Advisors<\/a>-linked nonprofits, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/voter-registration-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voter Registration Project<\/a>, and big labor outfits like Service Employees International Union, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/ohio-organizing-collaborative-ooc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to<\/a> InfluenceWatch. <\/p>\n<p>The OOC is a major player in the coalition behind the so-called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov\/getattachment\/826ca897-29bb-4b7d-81a3-0ba5e8fb64fc\/Ohio-Voters-Bill-of-Rights-(Second-Submission).aspx\">Ohio Voters Bill of Rights.\u201d<\/a> Opponents consider it an attack on election integrity. The proposed constitutional amendment would require automatic voter registration and same-day registration, expand ballot drop boxes, and water down voter ID requirements. <\/p>\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/11\/ohio-photo-id-constitutional-amendment-question-goes-to-voters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proposed amendment<\/a> on this November\u2019s ballot, passed by the Republican-controlled legislature, would enshrine the state\u2019s photo ID law into the Buckeye State\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n<p>In its latest <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/261601472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tax filings,<\/a> Ohio Organizing Collaborative reported revenue of $10 million and $8.95 million in expenses. The collaborative reported more than $35 million in revenue between 2020 and 2024. <\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Free from Illegal Meddling\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The FBI is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/06\/09\/milwaukee-poll-worker-says-fbi-interview-was-focused-on-fact-gathering\/90457065007\/?gnt-cfr=1&#038;gca-cat=p&#038;gca-uir=true&#038;gca-epti=undefined&#038;gca-ft=0&#038;gca-ds=sophi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> also investigating Milwaukee County\u2019s handling of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/118\/meeting\/house\/116804\/witnesses\/HHRG-118-HA00-Wstate-HemingwayM-20240207-U1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rigged<\/a> 2020 election in which swing state Wisconsin was inundated with election irregularities. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Wisconsin Public Radio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpr.org\/news\/city-county-milwaukee-seek-outside-legal-help-amid-fbi-probe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> that the county is bringing in leftist law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/state-democracy-defenders-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democracy Defenders Action<\/a> to provide outside legal counsel. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who is also a Democrat candidate for governor, told the news outlet that the outside firm founded by Obama campaign adviser and diplomat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/state-democracy-defenders-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Norm Eisen<\/a> will \u201chelp protect any of our workers or employees that may be targeted, but also to help make the argument, quite frankly, that the Trump administration has no reason to try to seize our 2020 election ballots.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>A year ago, President Donald Trump called for the appointment of a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/20\/trump-calls-for-special-prosecutor-to-investigate-rigged-2020-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">special prosecutor<\/a> to investigate the 2020 election, polluted by everything from suspect absentee ballots to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/15\/bidenbucks-make-zuckbucks-look-like-chump-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cZuckbucks.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division late last year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-four-additional-states-and-one-locality-failure-comply-federal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> demanding Fulton County, Georgia, turn over 2020 election records. In January, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/01\/28\/nx-s1-5691764\/fulton-county-fbi-search-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FBI seized election ballots<\/a> from Fulton County\u2019s election administrators. And the Justice Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/ag\/-\/media\/Project\/Websites\/AG\/releases\/2026\/April\/DOJ-Letter-to-Wayne-County.pdf?rev=14cc3666cb31423c8f0f2c786c1125b4&#038;hash=E605ABE60EDD30985F02F848AB4C1A35\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">is seeking ballots from the 2024 election in Wayne County, Michigan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, federal law enforcement officials charged a California woman with paying individuals \u2013 including homeless people living in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles \u2013 to register to vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFalse registrations undermine Americans\u2019 faith in elections \u2013 even more so when payoffs are involved,\u201d said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the DOJ\u2019s Civil Rights Division. \u201cThis Justice Department is committed to ensuring that all U.S. elections are fair and free from illegal meddling \u2013 so that all Americans can accept the results with confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Matt Kittle is a senior elections correspondent for The Federalist.
