Since the US and Israel went to war against iran on february 28, Hezbollah, Iran’s regional proxy, resumed attacks on Israel, complicating the potential for a long-term deal. Despite a recent ceasefire agreement aimed at stopping violence, Israel’s military intercepted rockets from Hezbollah, with israel asserting their right to defend themselves. The Biden administration emphasizes that Israel’s response to Hezbollah attacks is justified and not a condition of the ceasefire, though opinions within the US and Israel vary. Trump criticized Israel’s recent operations in Beirut, suggesting they should not have happened just as negotiations with Iran advance, highlighting tensions between US and Israeli perspectives. Meanwhile, Iran continues to support Hezbollah as a strategic force against Israel, which seeks to diminish Iran’s influence in lebanon. The US has been mediating negotiations between Israel and lebanon to promote regional stability, but Israeli leaders remain cautious and focused on dismantling Hezbollah. The recent US-Iran deal, signed digitally, does not address iran’s nuclear activities or support for proxies like Hezbollah, leaving key regional issues unresolved.

Iranian leaders continue to insist that any agreement with the United States must include a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah as well, but the fighting between them threatens to derail the whole peace process.

While the U.S. and Israel went to war against Iran on Feb. 28, Hezbollah, one of Iran’s top proxy forces in the region, resumed attacks on Israel days later, and now, with the U.S. and Iran on the verge of a deal that could pave the way to long-term stability, the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could collapse the whole deal before it comes to fruition.

Recommended Stories

Eight dead, including two Boeing employees, after B-52 Stratofortress crashes in California

Hegseth dismisses claims of US munitions shortages

Hegseth says Trump has ‘compel options’ if Iran fails to destroy its uranium

Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon “was not a condition of the deal,” a <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/miles-anonymous-taylor-accidentally-exposes-the-fraudulence-of-the-mainstream-media/" title="Miles 'Anonymous' It was the first time Iran had targeted Israel since the Trump-announced April 7 ceasefire, but it also demonstrated that Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel, and Israel’s subsequent response, could be enough to restart a regional war.

Trump’s willingness to criticize Netanyahu for retaliating against Hezbollah unearths a divide among the two close partners.
