Thomas Gross of the Alvarado Police Department on the night of the attack. Song, then a fugitive from justice, was the subject of a weeklong <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ndtx\/pr\/fbi-captures-alleged-prairieland-shooter-benjamin-hanil-song-dallas-texas\">FBI manhunt<\/a> and made the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dps.texas.gov\/Texas10MostWanted\/MostWanted\/fugitiveDetails?id=1867\">Texas Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives<\/a> list.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mugshot of Benjamin Hanil Song (Johnson County Sheriff\u2019s Office)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to charging documents obtained through a <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> records request, the three allegedly collaborated with two other accomplices, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Sharp-booking-page.pdf\">Lynette Read Sharp<\/a> and Susan Elaine Kent, to \u201charbor or conceal\u201d Song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharp and Kent both previously <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3933620\/texas-antifa-cell-terrorism-case-confessions-mount\/\">pleaded guilty<\/a> to federal charges of providing material support to terrorists. Sharp, the first coconspirator to take a plea deal, admitted to aiding and abetting Song\u2019s escape by supplying him with a disguise, while Kent told investigators that she coordinated lodging and transportation arrangements to move the antifa cell\u2019s at-large leader between safe houses.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State prosecutors allege that Estes, Smith, and Reyna worked alongside Sharp and Kent as part of a support network that activated in the aftermath of the attack to hide Song and provide him with \u201cthe means of avoiding arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A grand jury indicted the trio in March, but the indictment against Estes, Smith, and Reyna was just recently unsealed, bringing the total number of individuals suspected of involvement in the terrorism plot to 22 alleged antifa operatives across state and federal proceedings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3933620\/texas-antifa-cell-terrorism-case-confessions-mount\/\"><strong>TEXAS ANTIFA TERRORISM CASE: CONFESSIONS MOUNT AS TRUMP DOJ CLINCHES MORE CONVICTIONS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sixteen of the defendants have already been federally convicted, including nine <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/4490216\/texas-antifa-terrorism-trial-verdict\/\">found guilty<\/a> earlier this year in the first-ever federal antifa terrorism trial in U.S. history. Jurors returned convictions in March related to terrorism, rioting, carrying an explosive, and unlawful use of a firearm. Song was the only one convicted of the most serious charge of attempted murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seven others pleaded out ahead of trial, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3895618\/confessions-texas-antifa-cell-operatives-could-pull-back-curtain\/\">confessing in sworn statements<\/a> that the anti-ICE attack was launched \u201cin line with [an] Antifa ideology,\u201d and five of them <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/4485899\/convicted-coconspirators-spill-insider-intel-antifa-texas-terrorism-trial\/\">flipped to testify at trial <\/a>against their comrades in exchange for reduced sentences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An antifa collective called the DFW Support Committee, which established a legal defense fund for the nearly two dozen suspects, issued <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/prairielanddefendants.com\/press-release\/prairieland-defendant-moves-to-quash-state-charges-after-district-attorney-files-third-indictment-alleging-he-removed-members-from-private-group-text-chats\/\">a statement<\/a> declaring that the three newly indicted defendants \u201cdo not intend to cooperate with the prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date, the committee has raised almost <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.givesendgo.com\/supportdfwprotestors\">$125,000<\/a> from mostly anonymous contributors on behalf of the 22 criminally charged cell affiliates. Antifa International\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3822722\/antifa-terrorist-designation-ties-to-international-network\/\">funding arm<\/a>, the International Antifascist Defense Fund, sent the largest donation, signing \u201cWith love and solidarity from your friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estes, Smith, and Reyna were booked into Johnson County Jail, with bail set at a combined $1.25 million. All three have since been bonded out of state custody, court records show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The federal investigation came after President Donald Trump <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/09\/designating-antifa-as-a-domestic-terrorist-organization\/\">designated<\/a> the anti-fascist organization as a domestic terrorist organization, directing all appropriate agencies to \u201cinvestigate, disrupt, and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >dismantle\u201d criminal enterprises organizing<\/a> under the banner of antifa, including targeting <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3819800\/media-go-to-antifa-expert-is-financial-backer-of-antifa\/\">antifa\u2019s financial backers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3499558\/antifa-inc-left-wing-movement-ideology-criminal-network\/\"><strong>ANTIFA INC: HOW AN IDEOLOGY BECAME AN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL NETWORK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those convicted so far are scheduled for sentencing this Thursday in the federal terrorism case.
