The Alaska Division of Elections persistent that his candidacy was filed with the intent too confuse voters and undermine the fairness of the ballot, rather than as a genuine attempt to run for office. This individual, Dan J. Sullivan, recently announced his campaign to challenge the incumbent but was quickly met with opposition from the Republican Party and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which alleged he collaborated with Democrats to split the Republican vote to favor another candidate, Mary peltola. Authorities noted that his <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >campaign materials closely resembled<\/a> the official senator\u2019s, with similar branding and campaign tactics, seemingly to mislead voters. Moreover, his ties to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/women-shouldnt-accept-third-place-in-a-race-they-won\/\" title=\"Women Shouldn\u2019t Accept Third Place In A ... They Won\">political consultant<\/a> supporting Democratic candidates and apparent confusion about his own ballot name contributed to the decision to disqualify him. Sullivan, who was previously unknown, recently announced he was running to challenge the senator. His entry in the race quickly alarmed Republicans.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-15\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Republican Senatorial Committee filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission about his primary campaign, and the Alaska Republican Party did the same with the state\u2019s elections division. They alleged he worked with Democrats to run for office so he could draw votes away from the sitting senator to benefit former Rep. Mary Peltola.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peltola is the top Democrat in the race against Sullivan. His namesake opponent ran as a Republican before he was disqualified.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe preponderance of the evidence is that you chose this new nickname and party affiliation because that name and party affiliation happen to be the name and party affiliation of another candidate in the race,\u201d Beecher <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.elections.alaska.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Final-Determination-6.15.2026-DOE.pdf\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.elections.alaska.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Final-Determination-6.15.2026-DOE.pdf\">wrote in a letter<\/a>.<br \/><strong><br \/><\/strong>The elections official noted his campaign website used a similar \u201cformat, color scheme, and overall theme\u201d as the senator\u2019s campaign, which the official said appeared to be a \u201cdeliberate\u201d attempt to confuse voters.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beecher also cited Dan J. Sullivan\u2019s ties to a political consultant who openly supports Democratic candidates, including Peltola.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis consultant\u2019s work on your behalf is, in isolation, innocuous,\u201d Beecher said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter also says Dan J. Sullivan \u201cappeared to be confused\u201d when he emailed the state\u2019s elections office about putting his name on the ballot as \u201cDan S. Sullivan has 30 days to appeal the ruling, leaving him little time to get his name on the ballot.
