White, during an <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bEJWmK9mkXk\">appearance<\/a> on <em>The Katie Miller Podcast<\/em>, said he held 200 tickets, while another 200 were given to Ari Emanuel, executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, which owns UFC. Ari is the brother of Rahm Emanuel, a potential Democratic candidate for president in 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI guess the best way to get the tickets is from the president,\u201d White said. \u201cHe\u2019s got more than anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White House spokeswoman Allison Schuster said the fight on the South Lawn will be \u201cone of the most entertaining nights in American history.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving this spectacle take place at the People\u2019s House on Flag Day during our nations\u2019 semiquincentennial anniversary is a fitting tribute,\u201d Schuster said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UFC fight on the White House lawn will\u00a0cost $60 million and require involvement from more than seven federal agencies, according to the <em>Associated Press. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During his podcast appearance, White said the president pitched the idea of having a UFC fight at the White House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe were at a fight, and he leans over and says, \u2018You should do a fight at the White House,\u2019 and I said, \u2018Yes, yes, we should,&#8217;\u201d White recalled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the event, a specially constructed outdoor venue known as \u201cthe Claw\u201d was built on the South Lawn. The venue has 4,500 seats, while thousands more will be able to watch the fights on the Ellipse. The UFC event is just one of many events scheduled to celebrate the country\u2019s 250th birthday. Other events for the semiquincentennial include a planned \u201cstate fair\u201d on the National Mall and an IndyCar race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Sunday, with a seven-fight lineup planned. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America\u2019s monumental 250th anniversary,\u201d White House spokesman Davis Ingle said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A federal judge on Friday <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4605166\/ufc-freedom-250-fight-go-ahead-obama-judge-declines-stop\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4605166\/ufc-freedom-250-fight-go-ahead-obama-judge-declines-stop\/\">rejected a lawsuit<\/a> filed by two Virginia residents to stop the event, ruling that the individuals did not show a likelihood of standing to bring the claims in federal court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4605166\/ufc-freedom-250-fight-go-ahead-obama-judge-declines-stop\/\"><strong>UFC FREEDOM 250 FULL STEAM AHEAD: OBAMA JUDGE DECLINES TO STOP SUNDAY FIGHT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, an appointee of former President Barack Obama,\u00a0also ruled that even if the individuals had standing, they did not prove they would be harmed by the event taking place. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlaintiffs\u2019 unreasonable delay in filing suit, though not dispositive, undercuts their claims of irreparable harm,\u201d Mehta wrote. \u201cThe public has known that the White House would be hosting a UFC fight event since President Trump first announced it in July 2025. Equipment and materials for the event began arriving at the White House around May 20, 2026, and construction of the Claw began six days later.
