They\u2019re not being serious.\u2019 But like no one\u2019s going to decide that except for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-its-time-for-the-democrats-to-accept-their-victory-forgive-the-team-they-beat-and-to-move-on-you-won-be-happy\/\" title=\"FNC&#039;s Carlson: It&#039;s Time for the Democrats to &#039;Accept Their Victory,&#039; &#039;Forgive the Team They Beat and to Move On&#039; -- &#039;You Won, Be Happy&#039;\">national security official<\/a> who worked in Trump\u2019s first <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/white-house\/\" type=\"category\" id=\"125\">White House<\/a> suggested that Israel\u2019s willingness to \u201ctake the bait\u201d and resume fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon, against Trump\u2019s wishes, indicated to the president\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >current national security team<\/a> that they could \u201cblow up the entire deal at a moment\u2019s notice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe reality is that Israel has shown the issue with going to war with them as a co-belligerent, because they have different interests than we do,\u201d that person claimed. \u201cIran considers the front with Lebanon as part of this conflict, and any hostilities with Hezbollah as part of this conflict, so at any moment, Israel can theoretically blow up the entire deal by bombing Beirut.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think President Trump is being genuine when he says he\u2019d prefer to make a deal than continue the fighting, but he also can\u2019t afford to look weak,\u201d the former White House aide continued. \u201cIf anything, Tehran should take careful note of the scope of the latest U.S. attacks as a sign that the president isn\u2019t going to go easy on them any longer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap\" style=\"min-height:5px;\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" style=\"display:none;\">Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump gave additional insights into what caused him to pause negotiations with Iran. He suggested that he\u2019d only held off on dropping the ceasefire in the past based on the advice of Pakistani Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI gave them a break at the request of Pakistan. The field marshal and the prime minister of Pakistan are great,\u201d the president explained on Wednesday. \u201cThey became friendly to me, very friendly, and they\u2019re close to Iran, and they work \u2014 and they still are working on trying to get them to do what\u2019s right, but we want to make a deal that\u2019s meaningful, we want a deal that works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier in his remarks, the president also echoed comments about how Iran had slowly worn down his patience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was just tap, tap, tap. I don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing, so they then shot at our helicopter, very expensive helicopter, by the way, but much more importantly, the two men,\u201d he recounted. \u201cWe were really close to a deal, but they keep tapping us along. That was a path to a nuclear. This is the exact opposite,\u201d he concluded. \u201cThat deal was a path to a nuclear weapon. This is a path against a nuke. You can\u2019t have a nuclear weapon.
