Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) told MS Now that Gates described Epstein-related dinners and meetings and insisted he was not involved in any of Epstein\u2019s crimes, while also discussing Epstein associates such as Larry Summers.<\/p>\n<p>Gates acknowledged meeting with Epstein multiple times after Epstein\u2019s 2008 guilty plea, but said the interactions were tied to philanthropy. He also apologized to foundation staff earlier this year for associating with Epstein. In his writen statement, Gates said he never witnessed criminal activity by Epstein, never visited Epstein\u2019s properties, and never reciprocated any personal relationship. A source said Gates admitted he knew Epstein had been convicted when their relationship began.<\/p>\n<p>The article also notes that DOJ-released Epstein-related documents include emails from Epstein in 2013 that appeared to draft a resignation letter for Gates\u2019s adviser,Boris Nikolic,referencing a marital dispute between Gates and Melinda and alleging an affair and illicit drugs-claims Gates called false. Epstein sent himself emails in 2013 that appear to be drafts styled as a resignation letter from Gates\u2019s then-close associate, Boris Nikolic, in which Epstein wrote of resigning because he had gotten \u201ccaught up in a severe marital dispute\u201d between the billionaire and Melinda, his then-wife.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2013 emails from Epstein appeared to be written in reference to Nikolic\u2019s move to leave Gates\u2019s private office, with Epstein seeming to insert himself into the negotiations by drafting a resignation note for Nikolic. Nikolic was a physicist and science adviser to Gates.
