Raphael Warnock amplified the issue in a New York Times interview promoting his book by portraying Supreme Court decisions affecting voting rights-especially the *Louisiana v. Callais* ruling-as attacks on democracy, comparing the court\u2019s approach to \u201cJim Crow.\u201d The author contends that the criticism ignores the decision\u2019s affect on alleged partisan gerrymandering driven by Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>From there, the article ties broader denunciations of the Court to a pattern of escalating hostility. It cites the period after a leaked *Dobbs* draft showing the abortion decision would be overturned, arguing that public inflammatory messaging was followed by threats, demonstrations, and at least one assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. It also alleges that authorities and the Biden governance failed to adequately prosecute or deter such threats.<\/p>\n<p>The author further describes continuing incidents in later years-ranging from threats at campaign events to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/leaked-audio-bidens-dhs-secretary-admits-border-is-worse-now-than-in-at-least-20-years-if-not-ever\/\" title=\"Leaked Audio: Biden\u2019s DHS Secretary Admits Border Is \u2018Worse Now\u2019 Than \u2018In At Least 20 ..., If Not Ever\u2019\">security concerns raised<\/a> about Justices Clarence Thomas and Amy Coney Barrett, including mentions of a swatting incident-while asserting that Democrats continue to mischaracterize the Court to pursue political power, viewing threats as an acceptable byproduct of that goal.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>It\u2019s no secret that there\u2019s been an uptick in left-wing threats against the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s conservative justices in recent years. And it seems that Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/raphael-warnock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Raphael Warnock<\/a>, D-Ga., is more than willing to amplify the problem by spreading hyperbolic lies about the court\u2019s work product.<\/p>\n<p>The latest smear campaign came about in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/06\/06\/magazine\/raphael-warnock-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pages<\/a> of the hoax-peddling <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/new-york-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Times<\/a>, which was more than happy to give Georgia\u2019s junior senator airtime to hawk his new book. Employing left-wing rhetoric like the good little Democrat propagandist he is, interviewer <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/03\/the-nyt-interview-with-andrew-schulz-is-an-indictment-of-legacy-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Marchese<\/a> described Warnock\u2019s book as a literary work that \u201csingles out\u201d so-called \u201cvoting rights\u201d as one of America\u2019s \u201cmost pressing political and moral issues\u201d \u2014 an issue Marchese said \u201chas turned for many into a full-blown crisis\u201d following the Supreme Court\u2019s \u201crecent blow\u201d to the 1965 Voting Rights Act.<\/p>\n<p>That \u201crecent blow\u201d was the court\u2019s <em>Louisiana v. Callais<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/29\/supreme-court-smacks-down-rampant-race-based-gerrymandering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ruling<\/a>, which deemed the Pelican State\u2019s congressional map to be an \u201cunconstitutional racial gerrymander.\u201d What Marchese didn\u2019t bother mentioning is that the only ones experiencing a \u201cfull-blown crisis\u201d are Democrats, whose strategy of forcing states to draw racist gerrymandered districts to benefit their party came crashing down as a result of the high court\u2019s decision. <\/p>\n<p>Marchese\u2019s apparent desire for a juicy soundbite of Warnock trashing SCOTUS led him to cite the Democrat senator\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/5857782-warnock-slams-supreme-court-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent slander<\/a> of <em>Callais<\/em> as \u201cJim Crow in new clothes.\u201d In doing so, he asked Warnock to respond to the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >super-duper hard-hitting question<\/a> of what \u201cvoting rights\u201d means to him since his \u201cparents and grandparents grew up in the Jim Crow South.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right on cue, Warnock vilified the high court in a way only Democrats know how. He accused the <em>Callais<\/em> majority of \u201ccommitt[ing] violence against the ways in which ordinary people can have a voice in our system,\u201d and further cited the court\u2019s 2013 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/2012\/12-96\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shelby County v. Holder<\/a><\/em>  decision on the VRA to claim that Chief Justice John Roberts \u201cdespises the Voting Rights Act\u201d and \u201cnever believed in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]he legacy of the Roberts court is that, through the <em>Shelby<\/em> case, through the <em>Callais<\/em> case, and through the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/2008\/08-205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Citizens United<\/a><\/em>  case, they\u2019ve done a lot of damage to our democracy and our electoral system,\u201d Warnock said.<\/p>\n<p>Reading through the interview to witness the Georgia pastor\u2019s utter incoherence (and inability to recall a Bible verse) is definitely worth doing in its entirety. But for the sake of this article, let\u2019s stay with Warnock\u2019s smears against SCOTUS.<\/p>\n<p>What the Peach State Democrat is doing is part of the left\u2019s coordinated campaign to destroy the Supreme Court. Because their ideology no longer governs the court and it can\u2019t be used to advance their agenda via activist rulings, Warnock and Co. are now gunning to undermine the conservative majority and set the stage for Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/court-packing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court-packing gambit<\/a> through any means necessary.<\/p>\n<p>It just so happens that these efforts accusing the Supreme Court of committing \u201cviolence\u201d and doing \u201cdamage\u201d to American \u201cdemocracy\u201d are prompting their lunatic base to threaten the lives and safety of the justices. <\/p>\n<p>When someone leaked the 2022 <em>Dobbs<\/em> draft opinion showing that the high court would overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/3474836-democrats-denounce-leaked-supreme-court-draft-ruling-nixing-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hyperbolic lies<\/a> about the court conducting an \u201cassault on the dignity, rights, &#038; lives of women\u201d and the made-up \u201cfundamental right\u201d to abortion were followed by threats of violence against the conservative justices.<\/p>\n<p>Seemingly following the breadcrumbs laid by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/30\/the-dobbs-leaker-accomplished-nothing-but-accenting-the-lefts-contempt-for-democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they\u2019d \u201cpay the price\u201d if they ruled against the left\u2019s preferred abortion precedent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mi-dem-fantasizes-about-hurling-beers-at-barrett-kavanaugh\/\" title=\"MI Dem Fantasizes About Hurling Beers At ..., Kavanaugh\">left-wing anarchists showed<\/a> up at the homes of these justices with the intent to intimidate them into changing their position in the case. Such actions were enabled by the Biden administration, which <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/16\/john-roberts-failure-to-bring-dobbs-leaker-to-justice-sets-a-dangerous-precedent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declined<\/a> to prosecute the apparent crimes and encouraged activists to continue the demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist\u2019s Mollie Hemingway further detailed in her book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/alito-mollie-hemingway\/1147952913\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alito<\/a><\/em>  how Justice Samuel Alito and his family \u201cwere moved to a secure location\u201d as the left\u2019s anger and threats intensified. Meanwhile, Justice Amy Coney Barrett \u201chad to put on a bulletproof vest in front of her children, most of whom still lived at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fallout from the <em>Dobbs<\/em> leak culminated in a man attempting to assassinate Kavanaugh at his home, where he lived with his family. The would-be killer has since <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/04\/biden-judge-gives-would-be-kavanaugh-assassin-light-sentence-as-left-wing-violence-skyrockets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">received<\/a> a light sentence from a Biden-appointed judge.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, despite this wave of threats, the Supreme Court\u2019s Democrat-appointed justices denied requests from their conservative colleagues to finish their dissent and expedite <em>Dobbs<\/em>\u2018 release. In fact, Hemingway reported in <em>Alito<\/em> how the court\u2019s leftists did the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/23\/how-liberal-justices-used-a-footnote-to-drag-out-dobbs-release-amid-assassination-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposite<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/18\/explosive-report-as-dobbs-majority-faced-death-threats-liberal-justices-slow-walked-release\/\">slow-w<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/18\/explosive-report-as-dobbs-majority-faced-death-threats-liberal-justices-slow-walked-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alking<\/a> their dissent while their colleagues\u2019 lives were under siege.<\/p>\n<p>These threats against the conservative justices have only continued in the years since.<\/p>\n<p>A Michigan Democrat Senate candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/12\/19\/michigan-democrat-candidate-fantasizes-about-hurling-beers-at-justices-barrett-kavanaugh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fantasized<\/a> at a campaign event late last year about chucking beers at Kavanaugh and Barrett if given the chance. Earlier this year, Justice Clarence Thomas was forced to deliver remarks at an American University event virtually after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/27\/us\/politics\/supreme-court-thomas-security.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> \u201csecurity threat\u201d jeopardized his and attendees\u2019 safety. And most recently, there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/30\/swatting-incident-at-justice-barretts-home-is-another-hit-from-schumers-whirlwind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported swatting incident<\/a> at Barrett\u2019s home \u2014 a newsworthy development the Times hasn\u2019t bothered to report on as of publication. <\/p>\n<p>But Democrats don\u2019t care about any of that. <\/p>\n<p>Much like their ongoing embrace of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/assassination-prep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">assassination-prep-style rhetoric<\/a> against President Trump even after <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/trump-assassination-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">several attempts<\/a> on his life, leftists will continue to vilify the Supreme Court and mischaracterize its work because they believe doing so will get them what they want: power.<\/p>\n<p>For them, the threats against the conservative justices are a necessary consequence of achieving that objective.
