The decision, issued by **U.S. District Judge Emily Marks** in the Middle District of Alabama, permanently enjoined the Alabama Department of corrections from carrying out executions using nitrogen gas.<\/p>\n<p>In the case, Lee argued for a **firing squad** rather.
