The lawsuit was first filed in March but was later dismissed for lack of service, which means court documents were not delivered to the opposing party in compliance with the law. Convenience Stores Inc. is licensed to run coin-operated pay-to-play machines in Georgia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company says it has been and continues to be damaged by what it calls defamatory material that is still available to the public. Jones alleges the damage caused by Jackson and his campaign\u2019s claims exceeds $100 million and could harm the business\u2019s livelihood, as franchise agreements could be terminated if the company is thought to engage in illegal business. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jones and his family\u2019s company filed the lawsuit just days before the Republican primary runoff <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4575306\/trump-burt-jones-rick-jackson-runoff-georgia-gop-governor-race\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4575306\/trump-burt-jones-rick-jackson-runoff-georgia-gop-governor-race\/\">election on June 16<\/a>, but an attorney for Jones <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/2026\/06\/100m-lawsuit-filed-in-battle-over-republican-governor-nomination\/\">told the <em>Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/em><\/a>  that the company will have its claims decided by a Fulton County jury regardless of the runoff election results.
