The plaintiffs say the event, branded \u201cUFC Freedom 250,\u201d is \u201cdeeply corrupt\u201d and wasn\u2019t genuinely intended as part of the U.S. 250th anniversary celebrations, but rather is a for-profit promotion tied to UFC and President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>They claim the governance authorized the UFC to use privileged White House and Lincoln Memorial access, including staged weigh-ins and promotional events, and argue the planning and approval process unlawfully harms them through various \u201caesthetic,\u201d \u201cdignitary,\u201d and procedural harms. The event, part of the celebratory festivities for the 250th anniversary of the United States, is scheduled for June 14, 2026, Flag Day, and will take place on the South Lawn of the White House. The President is giving White and his company what none have enjoyed before: unfettered access to the White House and Lincoln Memorial to stage a private, for-profit sports event, with all the promotional and branding opportunities that accompany such access.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Susan Douglas, a retired government employee and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/megan-rapinoe-replaces-god-with-gay-for-met-gala-outfit\/\" title=\"Megan Rapinoe Replaces \u2018God\u2019 With \u2018Gay\u2019 For Met Gala Outfit\">left-wing political activist<\/a> from Virginia, and Paul Romano, a retired Air Force sergeant, Vietnam War veteran, Department of Defense police officer, and anti-Trump protester, claim the UFC match is \u201cunlawful\u201d and that both of them are being \u201charmed\u201d by the event. Douglas claimed she is suffering \u201caesthetic, physical, expressive, and procedural harms,\u201d and Romano said he is enduring \u201caesthetic, dignitary, and procedural harms,\u201d according to court <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.dcd.293217\/gov.uscourts.dcd.293217.1.0.pdf\">documents<\/a>. Both are residents of Arlington, Virginia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlaintiffs bring this case to seek judicial relief for their injuries, uphold the rule of law, and protect our nation\u2019s most cherished monuments from corrupt exploitation,\u201d read the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Douglas and Romano also take umbrage with the fact that viewers have to pay \u201c$8.99 plus tax for a Paramount Plus streaming subscription\u201d to watch the UFC match.
