The article notes that California results frequently enough take longer to finalize as mail ballots must be reviewed and verified before certification. <\/p>\n<p>The top two-Bass and Raman-advance to a Nov. 3 runoff against Karen Bass, the incumbent backed by gov. The claim had been amplified by Elon Musk, and President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> has long raised concerns about mail-in voting and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/election-fraud\/\">election fraud<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The top two finishers in the primary advance to a Nov. 3 runoff against Bass, who <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4592554\/bass-advances-to-runoff-in-los-angeles-mayoral-election-but-her-opponent-remains-unknown\/\">secured a spot<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">California\u2019s election results often take longer to finalize because of the state\u2019s widespread use of mail-in voting. Election officials must review and verify mailed ballots, including some that arrive days later, before certifying the results.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USAttyEssayli\/status\/2063419378675356063\">announced Saturday night<\/a> the creation of an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >election fraud tipline<\/a>, noting that \u201cpeople have been contacting our office wanting to provide information.\u201d He said to report potential election fraud if \u201ca ballot arrived at your home for someone who has never lived there, you were told someone already voted in your name, or you witnessed someone filling out ballots for others without their knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raman <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/la-mayor-election-spencer-pratt-nithya-raman\/3900642\/\">received twice<\/a> as many votes as Pratt on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4594856\/democrats-california-governor-race-shallow-talent-pool-sarah-bedford\/\"><strong>SARAH BEDFORD: CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATS COULDN\u2019T FIND A SINGLE CANDIDATE WITH CHARISMA OR CREDIBILITY<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bass was elected mayor in 2022 and has been endorsed by Gov. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gavin-newsom\/\">Gavin Newsom<\/a> (D-CA).
