The author points to Washington state\u2019s adoption of its Uniform Parentage Act (centering on state Sen. Jamie Pedersen\u2019s role) as an exmaple, asserting that the changes allowed payment and rewrote parentage law in ways that would not be acceptable outside this context.<\/p>\n<p>The article further contends that these legal shifts are connected to broader \u201cT\u201d issues in LGBT politics,arguing that concepts about sex and gender have expanded from marriage into other areas (sports,prisons,health),contributing to transgender-related controversies. It then argues that headlines involving child sexual abuse in families involving same-sex parents demonstrate what it calls the predictable outcomes of prioritizing adult desires and identity over child safety and biology.<\/p>\n<p>it concludes that *Obergefell* and subsequent parentage reforms are said to lead to \u201cchild inequality,\u201d and therefore the author supports overturning *Obergefell* through the \u201cGreater Than\u201d coalition, claiming it is necessary to protect children\u2019s right to have a mother and father.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Conservatives are jumping the gay marriage ship. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/710810\/support-lgbtq-issues-remains-down-peak.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new Gallup poll<\/a>, Republican support for same-sex marriage has plummeted from 55 percent in 2021 and 2022 to just 37 percent today. <\/p>\n<p>The reason is simple: Republicans were told that supporting same-sex marriage meant supporting their gay brother, daughter, coworker, or friend. They were told that opposing it meant they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lgbt-movement-that-defamed-anita-bryant-vindicates-her-views\/\" title=\"LGBT Movement That Defamed Anita Bryant Vindicates Her Views\">hated gay people<\/a>, and many bought it. If supporting same-sex marriage was simply the price of treating loved ones with dignity and respect, they were willing to pay it.<\/p>\n<p>What they were not told was that same-sex marriage would victimize kids. No sooner had gay marriage been achieved on the grounds that marriage had nothing to do with children than activists, judges, and lawmakers turned around and demanded parenthood too.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have no interest in persecuting their gay friends and family members. What they reject is the claim that adult equality requires making children lose their mother or father. And after a decade of watching the consequences unfold, it has become obvious that \u201cequal marriage\u201d was never just about adult \u201crights.\u201d It was about parenthood and children.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Parentage\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Justice Anthony Kennedy, author of the <em>Obergefell<\/em> majority opinion, wrote that same-sex couples needed access to the full <a href=\"https:\/\/teachingamericanhistory.org\/document\/obergefell-v-hodges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cconstellation of benefits\u201d<\/a> associated with marriage. The last decade has proved that children were among those so-called benefits. In the name of constitutional rights, the law had to accomplish what biology prohibits: making two same-sex adults the legal parents of a child. Thus, through the use of language and state force, activists began to meticulously eradicate a child\u2019s mother and father.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/cases\/pavan-v-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Pavan v. Smith<\/em><\/a>, the Supreme Court ruled that states could not treat same-sex couples differently on birth certificates. The presumption of <em>paternity<\/em>, a centuries-old doctrine designed to unite children with both biological parents whenever possible, was repurposed into a presumption of <em>parentage<\/em>. A legal tool created to secure a child\u2019s mother and father had become a mechanism for erasing one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the Uniform Parentage Act. A growing number of states have adopted all or part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniformlaws.org\/committees\/community-home?CommunityKey=c4f37d2d-4d20-4be0-8256-22dd73af068f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Uniform Parentage Act<\/a>, a sweeping legal framework designed to redefine parenthood itself. Previously, the right to take a vulnerable infant home from the hospital was recognized on two grounds: a biological relationship or proof of having undergone significant screening, vetting, and background checks to ensure the adoptive parents would love and cherish that child as if he or she had been born to them. Under the UPA, however, an \u201cintent\u201d to parent and a state-backed contract allowed unrelated adults to purchase children under the umbrella of constitutional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>I watched this happen firsthand in Washington state in 2018, when Democrat state Sen. Jamie Pedersen, a gay \u201cmarried\u201d father of four boys he commissioned via surrogacy, helped author and pass <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/rcw\/default.aspx?cite=26.26A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington\u2019s Uniform Parentage Act<\/a>. That law totally rewrote parentage law and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-its-hit-piece-on-me-the-seattle-times-proves-im-right-about-obergefell\/\" title=\"In Hit Piece, Seattle Times Proves I\u2019m Right About Obergefell\">legalized commercial surrogacy<\/a> in the state. The overhaul scrubbed \u201cmother\u201d and \u201cfather\u201d from Washington parenthood statutes, made new pathways for unrelated adults to acquire children without undergoing background checks, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hatch.us\/en\/blog\/washington-surrogacy-laws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explicitly allowed payments<\/a> from intended parents to birth or genetic parents. In any other context, the exchange of money for parental rights would be regarded as trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>Even Pedersen <a href=\"https:\/\/thembeforeus.com\/gay-marriage-fathers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> that all of these changes flowed directly from the legalization of gay marriage. Like I\u2019ve often repeated, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HBlIrv8NwgY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Obergefell<\/em> commodified children<\/a>. Once husbands and wives became optional, mothers and fathers became optional too.<\/p>\n<p>Parenthood statutes are being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/massachusetts-bill-redefining-parenthood-stripping-away-mother-father-could-soon-state-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stripped of sexed terms<\/a>. Mothers and fathers are now interchangeable \u201cparents.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/stateline.org\/2024\/03\/26\/few-states-cover-fertility-treatment-for-same-sex-couples-but-that-could-be-changing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Infertility is being reclassified<\/a> so same-sex couples can deliberately produce motherless or fatherless children with the help of insurance subsidies. Birth certificates have been <a href=\"https:\/\/firstthings.com\/obergefell-and-the-right-to-other-peoples-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">altered to legally exclude<\/a> a child\u2019s biological parent. New parentage pathways <a href=\"https:\/\/thembeforeus.substack.com\/p\/if-you-created-the-orphan-its-not\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bypass both biological and adoptive safeguards<\/a>. It is the legal obliteration of the nuclear family. When familial distinctions are erased, children become items to be awarded by state-enforced contract.<\/p>\n<p>The madness has not stopped. Even now, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/katy_faust\/status\/2062083060045128168?s=46&#038;t=cKLtc4iwUxQ2wF82Hup9nw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Democrats<\/a> are advancing legislation that continues to scrub sex-specific parentage language from state law. New York legalized commercial surrogacy through its version of the UPA, the ironically named Child-Parent Security Act. Now lawmakers are cleansing the remaining statutory code so the language matches the new reality they created, replacing longstanding mother-and-father terminology with sex-neutral parentage concepts.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because if you can\u2019t name it, you can\u2019t legally defend it. And gay activists regard even the mention of mothers and fathers as an attack on their \u201crights.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Undeniable Consequences<\/h2>\n<p>While all of this was unfolding, another reality became impossible to ignore: The \u201cT\u201d in LGBT was wreaking havoc everywhere. The same movement that insisted sex did not matter in marriage eventually insisted sex did not matter anywhere else either \u2014 not in sports, locker rooms, prisons, you name it. Republicans saw pictures of teen girls with <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/therightswriter\/status\/1879705850400641178?s=46&#038;t=cKLtc4iwUxQ2wF82Hup9nw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top scars<\/a> and read terrible stories of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TSk1jGk_GOo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">detransitioners<\/a> whose bodies were permanently mutilated. The excesses of transgender ideology forced them to look upstream and ask where these ideas came from. Many rightly concluded that gay marriage led directly to transgender madness.<\/p>\n<p>Then came headlines of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2026\/apr\/20\/baby-sexually-abused-killed-by-man-adopting-him-preston-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">terrible sexual abuse<\/a> of children raised by same-sex adults:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/katy_faust\/status\/2054048172193017870?s=46&#038;t=cKLtc4iwUxQ2wF82Hup9nw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201c2 [Married Gay Men] Arrested in Harnett County on Child Sex Crime Charges\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/surrogacy-loophole-family-law-gave-120051318.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cSurrogacy\u2019s Loophole: How Family Law Gave a Convicted Sex Offender a Baby\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/oklahoma-couple-sentenced-20-years-040134719.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cOklahoma [Lesbian] Couple Sentenced to 20 Years for Torturing and Beating Boy So Badly He Suffered Multiple Strokes\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/veterinarian-accused-planning-sexually-assault-his-unborn-child-8621928\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cVeterinarian Accused of Planning to Sexually Assault His Unborn [Surrogate] Child\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These headlines are not random; they\u2019re the predictable outcomes of a legal framework that prioritizes adult identity, desires, and equality over child-centric biological reality. The issue isn\u2019t sexual orientation; it\u2019s that these legal changes require children to live in homes with unrelated adults. Decades of social science have shown that <a href=\"https:\/\/thembeforeus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2.-Biology-Matters-Handout.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unrelated adults<\/a>, specifically men, are statistically the riskiest people in a child\u2019s life. Yet <em>Obergefell<\/em>\u2019s parentage promotes those exact arrangements in the name of adult civil rights.<\/p>\n<p>Republican opinion changed because the consequences of gay marriage became impossible to ignore. They were promised adult \u201cequality,\u201d but what they got instead was child inequality. They were told gay marriage was about hospital visitation rights and health benefits. Instead, they watched lawmakers redefine parentage, legalize commercial surrogacy, erase mothers and fathers from law, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kirk-cameron-cant-read-his-childrens-book-to-kids-unless-he-dresses-like-a-prostitute-and-gyrates-for-their-singles\/\" title=\"Kirk Cameron Can\u2019t Read His ...ren\u2019s Book To Kids Unless He Dresses Like A Prostitute And Gyrates For Their Singles\">alter birth certificates<\/a>, redefine infertility, and create entirely new pathways for unrelated adults, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/22\/meet-5-accused-pedophiles-who-bought-kids-through-surrogacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">some of whom have criminal records<\/a>, to acquire children.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans are not becoming less compassionate; they are becoming less naive. They are waking up to the reality that gay marriage has resulted in child harm. That\u2019s why I am spearheading the <a href=\"https:\/\/greaterthancampaign.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Greater Than<\/a> coalition. We will overturn <em>Obergefell<\/em> because it victimizes children.<\/p>\n<p>No longer is our warning that redefining marriage will redefine parenthood hypothetical. It is now clear that the law cannot simultaneously uphold same-sex marriage and a child\u2019s right to his mother and father.
