Donald Trump said the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner has been moved to a more secure location and rescheduled for July 24.the event previously ended early after an April shooting at the Washington Hilton, where a 31-year-old man-identified by police as Cole Allen-was charged with attempting to assassinate Trump and related weapons offenses.<\/p>\n

Trump also said he would attend and noted the new venue would be the waldorf Astoria, a Washington property tied to the Trump Institution. Weijia jiang, president of the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association, said the rescheduled dinner will be smaller and include upgraded safety and entry procedures<\/a>, describing it as a response to violence and intimidation.Allen has pleaded not guilty. The Washington Hilton had also hosted the 1981 Reagan assassination attempt outside the building. <\/p>\n
