Susan Collins, one of the few Republican members of the upper chamber from a reliably blue state, was based upon a mortal fallacy: Nothing worse was going to come out about him.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, sure, Platner had a Nazi tattoo. He apparently had a history of disgusting social media remarks. He appeared on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dems-invent-nazi-connections-gop-apologize-dem-sen-candidate-actual-nazi-connection-people-deserve-second-chances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holocaust denier\u2019s podcast<\/a> and called himself a massive fan. That was what they came up with <em>before<\/em> he really had an opponent. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/remember-dem-sen-candidate-nazi-skull-tattoo-trotted-new-defense-worst-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">While Gov. Janet Mills<\/a> was formidable at the ballot box before she withdrew, it was clear her heart wasn\u2019t in it.)<\/p>\n<p>Well, guess what? Things have, quite unsurprisingly, gotten worse. On Saturday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/elections\/graham-platners-wife-flagged-sexually-explicit-texts-to-his-senate-campaign-628ec832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> came out with a story that Platner\u2019s wife had alerted his campaign about <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >sexually explicit texts exchanged<\/a> with a number of women, in order \u201cto make sure they didn\u2019t pose a risk to her husband\u2019s nascent campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Somehow, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/no-regrets-graham-platner-admitted-to-buying-cocaine-boasted-about-doing-drugs-during-military-leave-while-on-the-government-dime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">worse<\/a> has happened since then, but it\u2019s worth pausing on the sexting scandal for a bit \u2014 because Democrats, in unison, all declared that this was a problem between Platner and his wife and maybe their therapist, and absolutely no one else.<\/p>\n<p>This is problematic in and of itself \u2014 it comes after a chorus of the same people pillorying Texas GOP Senate nominee Ken Paxton because his wife divorced him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ken-paxtons-senator-wife-files-divorce-biblical-grounds-shakes-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201con biblical grounds,\u201d<\/a> as if they suddenly cared about that \u2014 but it becomes more problematic when you see some of the people who were leading it.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, if you were schadenfreude-scrolling in the aftermath of the scandal breaking on Saturday afternoon, you were, more likely than not, fed the thoughts of a man called Morris Katz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s no one\u2019s f***ing \u00a0business what happened in Graham &#038; Amy\u2019s marriage before he was ever a candidate for office,\u201d Katz said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere should be no place in our politics for incompetent, opportunistic operatives who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/janet-yellen-endorses-irs-plan-to-monitor-all-bank-transactions-above-600\/\" title=\"Janet Yellen Endorses IRS Plan To Monitor All Bank Transactions Above 0\">violate privacy<\/a>, betray trust, and prioritize vengeance over decency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>WARNING: The following post contains vulgar language that some readers will find offensive.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It\u2019s no one\u2019s fucking business what happened in Graham &#038; Amy\u2019s marriage before he was ever a candidate for office.<\/p>\n<p>There should be no place in our politics for incompetent, opportunistic operatives who violate privacy, betray trust, and prioritize vengeance over decency.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Morris Katz (@katz_morris) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/katz_morris\/status\/2060806954818118044?\">May 30, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>You may have been left wondering who Mr. Katz was if you aren\u2019t up on this race.
